My God, Bloomberg has hired an expert on narcissism

and a comedy writer so they can get into Trump's head! Man, this guy is going to drive Trump nuts. I'm a black man and I know Bloomberg has said some shady shit, but I have to give credit where credit is due...he's trying to go for the jugular and he ain't playing around.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Bloomberg poured tons of resources to Democrats in the midterm and has agreed to spend a fortune even if he is not the nominee. Citizens United wasn’t our idea but we are stuck with it. Run the liberal real billionaire with his own media company against the c list celebrity fake billionaire. He can address any issues with the AA community by focusing on his liberal policy positions and picking Kamala Harris, Corey Booker, Deval Patrick etc. These would all be solid vp picks that would unify the Democratic Party I think. There is still too much bad blood with Bernie. He is a divisive figure not a unifier.

Not that I am one for applying labels willy-nilly and I understand the allure of someone with the resources to go up against red don, but please remember that Michael has a long and well documented history of aligning with bankers, Wall Street, etc. and promoting republican policies.

Just one example that reveals his actual predilections: he donated $3 million to help re-elect Rick "Poison Flint" Snyder and praised Snyder's efforts to do away with collective bargaining for public employees.

Then, there's this:

Let’s be honest: Ads also enable Mike to mislead voters without being corrected. One ad portrays him as Obama’s BFF, even though Mike didn’t back him in '08 & barely did in '12, when he scolded Obama for being partisan, divisive & populist. But few will see this pushback

Please read this twitter thread for a more balanced look at Bloomberg, his actual history and policies (not what he's spinning now) and his strategy to buy support:

Maybe a reward for damaging information on him, or play with him suggesting Obama or someone he hates bad may be his VP pick to steal his headlines he's using to promote his propaganda with daily. The Constitution doesn't say that your parents have to be citizens. It says YOU have to be born in the U.S. Hell, people were even talking about taking McCain to court over it because he was born on a military base in Panama. But the weight of legal evidence supports that the term “natural-born” also applies to people born abroad to parents who are U.S. citizens (which Cruz’s mom was).

The idea that you must be born on US soil in order to be eligible to run for President is just dumb, in my opinion. If you're born a citizen, you're eligible. If you're naturalized, you're not. That makes it nice and simple, and avoids the "what if the candidate's mother gave birth while on vacation in [insert foreign country]?" silliness.

Stop wasting time attacking Biden..
Stop wasting time attacking Warren..
Stop wasting time attacking Bernie.. (yes I know I'm being hypocritical here, but willing if his camp stops!)
Stop wasting time attacking Buttigieg...

Go after Tramp, and get behind the one that lands the best blows.

Stop fighting over silly shit like "MFA or enhanced ACA".. Yes, it is EXTREMELY important to fix our healthcare system.. but that's going to be resolved by Congress not the POTUS.. there is no executive order path or department directives that's going to fix this. Trust that our candidates.. any of them.. will sign off on, not veto any Democratic Party hard fought for legislation that passes and will move us forward.. Now, Look at who's running for your senate and house seats.. THAT'S the person you need to be focusing on getting someone who will write or at least pass said legislation!!!!

I'm with Mike because he's the one fighting the fight I want to see waged. Sick of watching Democratic Party candidates attacking Democratic Party candidates.

Sat Feb 15, 2020, 07:57 AM
Feb 2020

is "hitting down from a higher position." Parse his insults and you'll see what I mean.

He doesn't say, "You're fat." He says "you lie about your obesity."
He calls him "Donald"
He says, "I wouldn't hire you except to run a golf course" (especially this one, placing himself as the employer and Trump as the employee).
He says, "You're private phone number wasn't even worth writing down in my little black book filled with the names of people far more important than you are."
"We know the same people...and they laugh at you..." etc...

Some of these aren't exact quotes, but they are what he's actually saying to Trump.

EDIT: Also, you notice how Bloomberg often doesn't speak "about" Trump in the third person but addresses him directly. "Donald, we know the same people..." "Donald, where I come from we measure your height from the neck up."

Trump can say zero about anything Bloomberg has been criticized for because he's done worse. All the candidates have flaws regarding either racial or women's issues. There is no perfect candidate. I just want the one who can beat Trump. And you have to be impressed at how quickly Bloomberg has put together a killer campaign. Bloomberg might be smart to hint at a running mate. I'd suggest someone like Kamala Harris or Stacey Abrams.

You stated my feelings perfectly. Let us not forget - there is NO perfect candidate. The GOP and media will always find something to criticize something our candidates have said in the past. As far as I'm concerned, we have to pick the person who will beat Trump. As much as we wish it wasn't so, money talks in this country and media coverage is everything. Most Americans do not research the candidates like those of us on DU do.

As others have said, I will vote for Bloomberg if he's our candidate.

Has to be very delicate if he speaks of other current candidates (if at all) in that regard as he doesn't want to sound like he's proclaiming early victory, but anyone else ... Like Kamala and Beto for instance ... as people he wants for AG and Labor Secretary or some such ... would be brilliant IMHO.

Also mentioning his admiration for the exceptional level of quality Obama had for his Secretaries of State would be a genius move.

Trump will run over the rest of them. He will lie, cheat, call names, and use foreign interference. And the rest of the field will moan and groan and get beat like a red headed step child. Not Bloomberg. In an ironic twist, he actually is a billionaire and will use his money to shove it up Trump's ass with a candle on it. That is what we need now, in our democracy. If not, prepare for being a banana republic where Trump is king.

Fact: 13% of NH primary voters on exit poll stated they were not democrats.
Those same 13% said they would not be voting for a democrat in the GE.

Side note..but an important one. Sanders win was very narrow there.. approx 25+% of the vote total, down from 16 when it was 41+%.

I will let you all do the math..and please think how these numbers are.. or are not going to work in the GE when the gop is not there falsely propping those number up

Trump is an existential threat to life on Earth. This is not just politics but the future of our species. This entire episode could be blamed on lack of law enforcement and giving a known sexual predator a spot on reality TV. It will not clean up easily.

Trump needs to be attacked relentlessly by those who can push his many buttons. Money created this problem money needs to fix it.

Bloomberg has more Explaining to do about some of his past actions to be sure. Despite that he has more support from people of color than one might imagine.

But he sure gets under The Orange One’s skin and that’s priceless. He also has the money and resources to go hard after Fat Donnie and that’s awesome.

Right now virtually any of our candidates minus maybe Gabbard would be a quantum improvement over the dumb dangerous Con “man” in Office now.

In this regard, the other Dem candidates might do well to consider emulating Bloomberg.

That said, Bloomberg is 78, same as Sanders. A handicap in either case. But Bloomberg is actually trying to buy the nomination purely through an advertising campaign, without actively participating the way every other candidate is forced to do. That's profoundly undemocratic. The sense of entitlement is staggering. The other billionaire Tom Steyer has, to his credit, actively campaigned ... Not that I support him.

By avoiding the rough and tumble of the primary fray, Bloomberg is depriving voters of any indication if he will have the vigor to engage in the strenuous battle of the general election. Be that as it may.

But is Bloomberg preferable to Trump? ... No brainer; It's Bloomberg, without a doubt. Only rarely in history does the near-perfect candidate come along. I'm a Warren/Sanders guy but if Bloomberg can win the primary, which I doubt, he has my vote 100%.
