Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumBernie is not a Democrat. He will be a Disaster if Nominated. Think of KY.
I live in a state that is reliably blue. Our electors are pretty much assured to be blue and vote for any candidate who is not Trump.
That is not the case in many places. In many "purple" states it is not the case. In KY, where we really, really need to unseat McConnell it is not true.
I will say it over and over again. Bernie is NOT a Democrat and he is a loser for Democrats.

Also, don't you think that Michael Moore agrees with the absolute priority of beating Trump?
Michael Moore supports Bernie Sanders.

(10,391 posts)I am a Democrat. Ive voted Democratic my entire adult life. My first vote was against Dubya, and it was a passionate one.
I could not possibly care less that Bernie does his independent shtick. He caucuses with our party, votes for our policies, supports our candidates, and runs on our ticket so he wont split any votes.
This whole Not a Democrat! business is a very inside baseball thing only countenanced by hyper-partisans. The kind of people who post about politics all day on social media basically.
Rank and file voters do not actually care about this. They care about what they will do if they get sick. They care about paying for their childrens education. They care about wringing out that last ten dollars until the next paycheck. They care about the climate and why the weathers getting fucked up.
No one, and I do mean almost no one, cares about this. Im not sure who its meant to appeal to. Not only that, but this refrain has been going on for years. Does anyone not know? Why repeat it over and over and over again? Who are you trying to reach there?
Not a Democrat!
No one cares. Hes winning, if you hadnt noticed.

(3,191 posts)Is why the LA Dodgers have sucked in the home stretch, come on people get your shit together. Real people play ball.
"The Los Angeles Dodgers have been eliminated from the postseason for the last seven years running. They haven't won the World Series since 1988. Let that sink in. In all seven seasons they won the National League West, this season with a franchise record 106 victories"

that Bernie is the second coming, even when his 30+ year record don't remotely point to that. They are convinced, like the young people coming out for McGovern and the Hippies who didn't get that most of America looked askance on what they saw as a leadpipe cinch. They are convinced, like the progressives who refused to fully back Carter in 80. They are convinced, like those that claimed a left Mondale was too conservative in 84. They are convinced, like those that chose Dukakis over candidates that had a chance to beat Bush I. They are convinced as they explain to me WHY 72, 80, 84, 88 would have been different only if x happened. They are convinced even as I saw the debacles happen with my eyes in real time.
