I wish Democrats were better poker players.

In my opinion, they are simply more honest than the other Party.

But, I do believe it would benefit them politically if they could learn the rules of poker a little better.

For example, Democrats should not be panicking about Bernie Sanders. They should let Republicans believe that Bernie is probably going to win in November. When he does, the taxes on the wealthy are going to go up. There will be healthcare for every American. The Defense budget will be cut in half. The Trump trillion dollar tax cut for the very wealthy will be repealed. There will be a tax on every stock transaction on Wall Street. There will be huge, progressive changes in this country.

Let them believe that. (We may not believe it is going to happen but let them believe it) If it does happen, what is the problem?

Good poker players can look in their eyes and tell when they are scared. Do not be afraid to bet, even if it is a bluff. Make them believe it is real.

Why should Democrats be afraid of something they have been trying to accomplish since the days of the creation of the Democratic Party? Why should Democrats think their only option is to nominate a "real" billionaire, as if that is exactly what the Party stands for? But, so long as Bloomberg is spending hundreds of millions of dollars attacking Donald Trump, why should we be in a hurry to stop him? Play their game. Raise the stakes.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

This is the fact that too many on our side get into paroxysms of fear while the other side just puts its head down and bludgeons ahead with their agenda. In a way it is due to higher IQ on the Democratic side. But sometimes we need to take a page from their playbook and do the same. Bernie by no means represents the views of most in this party, but to hell with it, if he's the nominee lets go in and scare the shit out the fat-cats. And if Bernie does win, then we have the House to control his urges anyway.

Republicans understand that Sanders is a historically weak candidate not because Democrats are “panicking” but because Sanders is in fact a historically weak candidate.

...then why panic about his possible nomination?

Would that mean that his opponents are "historically weaker"? In my opinion, it is not a rational argument.

Maybe Bernie is going to win in a landslide?

Just because this relatively small section of primary voters like Bernie, does not mean he is strong in the GE. We are courting disaster.

But he/she is expected to be strong enough in the general election to win it all, including the House and Senate? How do we expect to reach that point of great strength?

... This is just like it was with national elections and McGovern; they knew McGovern was in the dumps before anything started !!!

Sanders numbers against Trump are even current lack luster.
