Theres now a good chance that Joe Biden will win South Carolina, which could give him an opening to right his campaign heading into Super Tuesday. While Bernie Sanders is still the clear frontrunner, a protracted contest between him and Biden -- with Mike Bloomberg potentially somewhere in the mix -- is a possibility, if other moderates fare badly in South Carolina and drop out.
So its interesting that a pro-Trump Super PAC is currently running a TV ad in South Carolina targeting Biden.
The ad hitting Biden from the Committee to Protect the President is a remarkable piece of work: It weaponizes audio of Barack Obama against Biden, in what is clearly an effort to turn African American voters against him.
Obama himself is now denouncing the ad. Katie Hill, a spokesperson for Obama, told us his office is calling on TV stations to stop airing the spot, denouncing it as an effort to sow division and confusion and suppress turnout among minority voters in South Carolina.

On edit: Obama hits back:
Barack Obama demands South Carolina stations pull misleading ad attacking Joe Biden

Former president Barack Obama is calling on South Carolina television stations to stop running an ad from a pro-Trump super PAC that uses his words out of context in a misleading attack on former vice president Joe Biden.
The Committee to Defend the President, a group devoted to supporting Trump, reported to the Federal Election Commission on Tuesday spending more than $250,000 in South Carolina to oppose Biden.
The group, which placed a similar amount of anti-Biden advertising in Nevada earlier this month, circulated an ad that falsely suggests that words Obama spoke in the narration of his own book were meant to describe Biden.
This despicable ad is straight out of the Republican disinformation playbook, and its clearly designed to suppress turnout among minority voters in South Carolina by taking President Obamas voice out of context and twisting his words to mislead viewers, said Katie Hill, Obamas communications director. In the interest of truth in advertising, we are calling on TV stations to take this ad down and stop playing into the hands of bad actors who seek to sow division and confusion among the electorate.

There are reasons why Obama chose him as VP. Dem voters will see through this blatant BS.
