Bernie fan:"If Joe Biden didn't have dead children t use to try to win an election he'd invent them"

A Bernie supporter actually tweeted this. What a disgusting thing to say. And she has other bernie fans agreeing with her.

I have no words.

104. Because its the outrage of the day. Find something stupid some one says and go ballistic -- proof
Sun Mar 1, 2020, 05:48 AM
Mar 2020

I overheard in a café, two people discussing the primaries. Both supported Biden. One said "Maybe we will get lucky and Bernie will die of another heart attack". Reprehensible or a not? Did they really wish him dead or is it just sarcasm. Should it dominate the airwaves as outrage.

Over and over, people post "Bernie wants to take away your health care". Does this apply to sick people. It certainly would seem to. Does Bernie really want to take health care away from a sick person. Pretty reprehensible if you take the attack seriously and under your type standard, it should be the product of mass outrage. Should these two attacks permanently mar every Biden supporter forever with a stain they can not get rid of. Maybe every Biden supporter should post hundreds of posts a day apologizing for the maligning of Bernie intimating that he wants to take health care from people.

The real answer is that people post stupid stuff every day and your post and my examples should just be shrugged off if you support Biden. People feel emotions in primaries and post stupid stuff that can be read either with support or outrage.

Every person on this site could find something stupid in the world to post outrage posts. You should just stop posting outrage posts every time you think your favorite is being impugned and further associating it with the candidate and all the candidates supporters.

Not posting such stupid and divisive outrage posts would do good things for this site. Further, it serves no purpose other than to inflame divisions and hurt our path to beating trump with whoever our candidate is. We do not need stupid outrage over the fact that our favored candidate has opponents who are equally supported by other people both on this site and in the electorate.

Biden supporters will call a spade a spade. In fact, supporters of every other candidate will call a spade a spade except for Bernie's. Bernie supporters don't. They do one of 3 things:
1. Say that it could be a bot (even though trump is all in for a bernie primary win. If anything, bots should be pro bernie)
2. Make excuses that it is just 1 person acting like the lone wolf and their campaign has no control
3. Ignore it and wish it away

Biden supporters and supporters of other candidates echoed the attacks on Bernie taking away peoples health care. The culinary union in nevada put out a pamphlet saying that. Did Buden or any supporter denounce it.

No because these types of attacks happen in primaries. The only problem is your claim that Bidena nd his supporters would denounce the specious claims levied against bernie and his general supporters.

97. Bitterness in primaries carries over
Sun Mar 1, 2020, 04:00 AM
Mar 2020

into the general.

As for ignoring it, sometimes, though not always, that is the wisest choice when the goal of the person making the comment is to arouse outrage and anger.

If Sanders himself had said it, that would be different. It would deserve a response then.

Trump is a good example. He plays to the attention and divisiveness of arousing outrage. The media plays into that too, by amplifying his comments. Better to calmly disagree and then use our energy for concrete action instead of burning it up in outraged anger.

I hate seeing anything posted on DU that wouldn't move one person's primary vote (because people aren't persuaded by attacks against their chosen candidate), because it serves no purpose but to divide. ACTUAL argument and well thought out persuasion? Of course that opens discussion and opens us up to more information and a more informed choice. THAT I love.

But anything that's just meant to sow division? We can't afford that now.
