(33,643 posts)This very forum is a veritable goldmine for Putin and the GOP.
Think they're not watching it, intently?
I can almost guarantee they are.
They leveraged Bernie to divide us and win last time ... they're gonna do the same this time, cause it works.
Regardless of whether I'm correct, it's something I think it's worth all of us considering

(58,785 posts)here, one in a line of them, while all the women in the race are tough-slogging against what looks like a preference for a male alternative. No surprise. Some who sincerely believe they are strongly for women's rights in fact have a personal history of opposing them above a certain level. Up with women, just not that (the one discussed at the moment) woman for president.

(33,643 posts)Putin is probably lifting a Russian vodka shot in WaPo's honor, perhaps sniffing an extra bump out of a Russian porn stars navel in celebration ...

(58,785 posts)is so deeply ingrained over millennia that most have no idea that their choices reflect it, and often. This is a good time to realize what's happening. And maybe to go read an honest article about Kamala Harris. Learning about our women candidates is the best medicine for this ailment.

(33,643 posts)And lived in the Bay Area for 35 years of my life.
And aside from myself, nobody in my immediate family (Mom, Dad, Stepdad, Stepmom, and 2 brothers) have lived outside the Bay Area in the last 40 years.
Suffice to say, I'm familiar w/Kamala Harris. And I don't have a bad word to say about her, frankly.
Anyways, the fact that I briefly felt anger rising up when reading your response quickly tells me ... this tactic from the other side (and even from well-meaning people on our own side)?
It's likely to work.
Watch how this thread goes down (if it picks up a decent-sized discussion) and you'll see what I mean.

(26,214 posts)said that four out of five of the young people she spoke to who were Bernie fans last time weren't going to caucus for him this time. Beto or Buttigieg were the favorites. "Most of the people I was talking to were young women and yet the female candidates were not getting attention in this conversation." "There's a desire for something new and something male."

(6,287 posts).....that since there are no women in Pete's position among the candidates, the author is writing under an assumption. An assumption that the author hopes will translate into fact when read by the public which seems to be working so far.
Maybe not the presidential race since there is no woman in Pete's position running, but I see plenty of positive media coverage in other races as demonstrated at the following Google search link.
