listed her as most admired. What it means is that she has a significant group of people who respect her more than anyone else. However, it says nothing of the other 96%. I would assume that many admire her, but admire someone else too. Note that Trump likely is on the comparable male with 13% picking him. Yet, I would argue that he is an unusually unpopular President.

There are polls where people state whether they have a favorable or unfavorable opinion. Hillary Clinton was underwater (as was Trump) on the comparison of the two in 2016. I would argue that much of that was due to a campaign of lies --and Russian trolls.

However, I think the truth is that she has a larger group of people who admire her and respect her than most people AND she has a larger group of people who have unshakable negative opinions of her than most people. The response to her is extremely polarized.

At this point, as Hillary once said on something else "what difference does it make?" At this point, she has made her mark on history and history, after time passes, will look at what she did. It is possible that she will add to her accomplishments doing things to help Democrats in 2020 and it is possible that she could have a role in a future Democratic Presidency.

There is not a single poll later than January 2016 where the number favorable is higher than the number unfavorable. (In fact, I think the point where negative started to be higher than positive was in mid 2015 - since June 2015, there are at best a few polls where the numbers are almost the same.

Look at http://pollingreport.com/hrc.htm - There are several different pollsters - all getting that same pattern. It shows that the email stories had a very major impact on favorability early on even as she was seen as the inevitable winner -- and without Comey, she still likely would have won - even with all the Russian interference. (Here I am looking at head to head polls.) This means that even as the majority of the country was indicating that they would vote for her - there were more people answering "unfavorable" than "favorable". (I would suggest that meant they preferred her positions and had faith that she could be a good President - even though they had qualms about her. NOTE - that is absolutely conjecture on my part based on those contradictory results that existed even before Trump became the nominee when she was matched with other Republicans. )

My point is that asking who is your most admired woman is not likely to give any real information on the full distribution of how the entire population views a person. It is possible that there are people further down the list - where fewer say they are the one most admired - who overall have a higher percent of people viewing them favorably.

Note that Trump gets a much higher percent on the male side -- and we KNOW he is seen very unfavorably by over half of the country.

The link to the many polls are not looking at most admired, but at estimates of how the population of US adults views individuals. On those polls, what is clear is that she has more people having an unfavorable impression than a favorable one.

I also was not "dunning" Clinton. I was stating accurately what the favorability polls mean. I have a hard time understanding why you can not see that it is entirely possible for 4% of the population to admire someone more than anyone else and for 50% of the population to say they do not see her favorably. (Maybe by taking an analogous example where no emotion is involved? ie would you have a problem if data showed that 4% of the women picked brown as their favorite dress color - while in a different survey 56% of women disliked brown as a dress color? )

PS I am not supporting Sanders - I am undecided between a few others.
