Believe in your candidate. Remember in 2016 Trump never refused a chance to go on TV , neither should JB.

But it would serve no purpose for Joe to even engage Bernie at this point.

3. I think the format (and hopefully "intentions" ) will serve to make it a more cordial "discussion"

No audience to play to so that speaking in anything but a conversational voice would be incredibly jarring.

4. Joe should just ignore Bernie

and pitch his answers against Trump. The primary is over and the grumpy old guy flailing about on the other podium can be safely disregarded.

9. That would show an incredible lack of respect on Biden's part, don't you think so?

The "grumpy old guy's" name is Sanders, Bernie Sanders.

But there’s no longer a need to argue with the man because the argument is over and Joe won.

Biden can the answers in a way that pertains to the general election. He can address the issues in the context of Biden v Trump rather than the context of Biden v Sanders, if for no other reason than that is a moribund contest.

The last thing he needs to do is “debate” with someone who has already lost.

trump being the idiot that he is will throw balls left and right at Biden, and if he can't handle a friendly figure like Sanders, well...he will fail horribly against trump.
