Should Joe Biden announce his VP choice before the convention?

Would that help to unify? Would it help to move away from the divisive primaries and to focus our attention more on the task of defeating Trump and the GOP?

Would it help to push Bernie further into irrelevance? Would it help to neuter Bernie's desire and ability to to "burn it down" and bring Bernie's flock of followers into being able to accept the reality that Bernie won't be the nominee.

Or, would it backfire by "peaking" too soon? Is there an advantage in "keeping people guessing"? Are their headlines to be had with the "who will it be" guessing game and speculation? Will he be able to tease the media by being coy to get more coverage?

It's not like it matters at this point. I'm voting for the Democratic nominee. Whoever he picks, there isn't another choice. So, I'm leaning toward it doesn't matter who he picks or when he picks them. I'm voting against Trump. Period. That's the part that matters to me right now. He could pick a cactus or a salad or something equally silly. I wouldn't care at this point, lol. Getting rid of Trump is the goal. Any thinking person knows vote for the Democrat to achieve that goal.

But we will have to see how the virus goes. This may be the Convention all on its own. So it may be the only story to dominate a news cycle.

The News cycle is DOMINATED by virus stuff. He should wait until such an announcement will draw some sustained attention.
