Those of us here tend to follow politics a good deal more closely than the average joe sitting at the counter in a diner. Note, for instance, the disconnect between Harris here at 12% and Harris in the real world polling rarely higher than 7-8%, even in the south, and losing out to Sanders routinely (but not always) among black voters, though DUers vehemently argue otherwise. The same case can be made against Sanders with young people, and Biden with old people. The formula doesn't really change; DU is not representative of the world at large.

The same happened here in 2016, and to an extent in 2018, and in 2012/14 before that. It's a tale as old as DU itself. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's easy to get drawn into the echo chamber here and assume that views presented are dominant or even prevalent in the real world. The truth being, the average day-to-day voter just doesn't give a shit about whatever the daily outrage de-jure is on D.U.

want Biden because he can beat trump. trump needs Pennsylvania. Even though Biden is living in Delaware, Pennsylvania is the state where he was born and raised and he can win it. Biden has a close relationship with blue collar workers who know trump hurt them. He won't take any of trumps crap. I really think Biden running with a strong progressive Dem woman (Harris) would be an excellent ticket.

Easy, d'Artagnan, easy. I'm on Biden's side, the whole thing was much ado about nothing. Sexual or non-sexual, there was a large public dialogue and ostensibly-sourced outrage regarding Biden's actions so I class it as "Scandalous" since it fits the definition. Also "Kerfluffle" wouldn't fit in the subject line.
