DUers Suck: I Hope You're All Happy Now

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Yonnie3 (a host of the Democratic Primaries forum).

Last edited Sat Apr 20, 2019, 04:20 PM - Edit history (1)

I went out this morning and shopped at a Super Market I usually don't go to and then went to Stop and Shop where I usually do go, to not shop and to stand with strikers for an hour today.

At the super market I usually don't go to I bought a beautiful T-Bone steak for about $11 and then went to a local fish market and bought a beautiful piece of fresh haddock for $15.

I put the steak on the left side of my grill and, over some tin foil, I put the haddock, with lemon, butter and bread crumbs on it on the right side. Figuring I could check on the items in about 5 minutes I'd kill some time on my keyboard engaging with my fellow DUers.

After forgetting about my grill and about 20 minutes later, I have a fucking blackened piece of rubber on one side of the grill and a mass of some sort of burnt shit on the other.

Since this situation can't possibly be my fault, I want to tell you all, friend and foe alike, that you all suck.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

61. OVEN TIMER
Sat Apr 20, 2019, 05:25 PM
Apr 2019

When my daughter was little, and she didn't want to do something now, like go to bed or do a chore, we would agree to set the oven timer so that when it beeped, it was time to do that thing. That way, she could finish watching her program or whatever.

When she got to be around 11, and I didn't want to take her out shopping for new clothes, she started to do the same thing to me.

There is a deeper point here if I can figure out what it is, but the lesser point is that oven timers are loud and don't let you forget things.

Now I always turn on both the stopwatch and the timer before starting the food or logging in. Saved many an expensive piece of fish that way.

I couldn't have been involved in said conversation, however I accept the blame. It was all my fault. Everything is always all my fault.

Going to google or youtube to see best practices on cooking food I'm not used to is a mandatory habit for me. Even then I still make mistakes. I guess that's just how it goes. Especially when a certain herm is combined with cooking...

But, thanks for your concern.
