Biden becoming the highest ranking government official to endorse marriage equality?

He did it before Obama - he was the one who put the issue out there and, eventually, Obama met him on it and, what do you know, both went and won reelection together a few months later.

Someone said the other day that he stood against it and I was thinking about him encouraging Obama to work at passing that. How that is against it I have no clue.
