I hear him do it all the time. The people who accuse him of only having generalities are not watching his livestreams and are just repeating what cable news pundits are saying. They have been dogging him unfairly because he wanted to spend some time getting out and meeting voters, listening and allowing those conversations to help him form policy plans that address as many peoples' concerns as possible.

5. I believe the words out of Beto's mouth are entirely serious
Mon Apr 29, 2019, 05:30 PM

What he proposes:

“We will also insist and ensure that weapons that were designed and sold to the United States military, with the express purpose of killing people as efficiently as effectively and in as great a number as possible, are kept on the battlefields and are no longer sold in our communities, because they will end up in our synagogues, in our churches, in our mosques and public places.”

Of course, his words taken at plain value would mean that the following 1717 design
would be banned:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charleville_musket

Charleville muskets were not used in battle like a modern rifle. Instead, Charleville muskets were fired in mass formations [en masse].

Again, Beto's own words, as recorded on video:

"... designed and sold to the United States military, with the express purpose of killing people as efficiently as effectively and in as great a number as possible..."

As well as pretty much *everything* found on the following pages:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_infantry_weapons_in_the_American_Revolution

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rifles_in_the_American_Civil_War

Now, are we to believe you or our lying ears?

If it isn't, Beto's a control freak.

If not, he needs to work on his stump speeches, as idiocy like this reinforces the meme

"Democrats and guns = 'crusade' no different than Republicans and abortion"

Sure hallmark of a controller: Too mealymouthed in political discourse to let what they really want slip...

Gun OWNERS - all of them - are the problem.

In my view, and to my basic point here, there is no difference between gun owners. If someone owns one gun or an arsenal, you are contributing to the problem.

Were there no gun owners, today's shooter would have had to resort to other methods. Which he apparently tried, with IEDs, but failed.

Yeah, I know all the bullshit that will follow this post . . . . mental health, responsible gun owners, and a thousand other deflections when the issue is REAL SIMPLE: GUN OWNERS.

They will never recognize that they are a part of the problem, no matter what the rest of their political views are, as you can tell from the other responses in this thread.

66. Exactly, they don't care either.

https://www.democraticunderground.org/100210629460#post82

All responsible gun owners up
until they are not.

Then let’s throw in those who intimidate with guns, kill spouses, indoctrinate their kids into gun culture, 60+ million white wing racist gun owners, etc.

Why should we coddle the rest for anything more than a gun or two at home for hunting or home defense? And no high capacity semi-autos.

Once again, "Dems on Gunowners sounding like Pubbies on immigrants"

Good luck with getting gun owners to go along with criminalizing themselves. And there's little to no chance your crowd would join
confiscaction squads en masse, so there's that.

IOW, no different from the Trump Brothers or John Bolton...

As usual, you gunners -- who can't even read the 2nd Amendment -- missed the point.

In any event, good to see gunners back posting now that they have to worry about a gun-supporting Prez being replaced by a Democrat.
