I voted for John Anderson even though he was a Republican. I agreed with him on this much: On January 5, 1980, in the Republican candidates' debate in Des Moines, Iowa,[41] unlike the other candidates, Anderson said lowering taxes, increasing defense spending, and balancing the budget were an impossible combination.

He certainly wasn't a RW Reagan Republican. He was palatable.

And he only got 6.6% of the vote in 1980.

And Roger Stone and Roy Cohn put him up to draw away Carter votes.

Reagan won with 45% of the vote, not a majority.

Vote for Biden and press HIM for reforms.

2. i voted for a guy named barry commoner in that election.

mostly because it was (and is)obvious the trouble in iran is over oil rather than the minor religious frosting.

in retrospect, that carter administration was a golden age.
