So glad that she was rescheduled, my favorite interview of the week - and I'll bet she was Colbert's, he loves political guests!

Not sure I would have been able to get to sleep if I'd watched it when it "aired."

But her message is absolutely correct:
- We have to treat other Americans as fellow human beings;
- We have to fight against scape-goating and toxic conspiracy theories;
- We need to beat people at the polling place; and
- We need to make sure the public knows about this stuff.

Your posting these clips helps achieve that last point! Thank you!!

As I said above, Rachel was originally scheduled the week that Stephen was off due to Covid and I was disappointed. But fortunately she was rescheduled and not only is she so informative, but Colbert loves political guests, he'd likely be happy if he could have political discussions with every guest (if they were like Rachel!).

I like to think that the last segment reached millions more than MSNBC does because comedy is the preferred frame for truth for people conditioned to infotainment.

And answered all of Stephen's questions - and he certainly was prepared. There would be no point in posting each segment separately since she really did cover everything - it was all of a piece. I was really looking forward to her appearance since she was originally scheduled the week that Colbert was out with Covid, but it was definitely worth the wait! And of course the comedy helped.

I read her previous book, listened to her Ultra podcast, and Prequel will arrive tomorrow. Of course I'm happy for her perspective on Monday nights, but I now appreciate her more in these arenas because she's more comfortably humorous and at her intellectual best.

I always feel better for having read or heard her. Same goes for Lawrence.

You could tell from the pointed questions he put to Rachel - and he even mentioned that senator challenging the labor leader to a fight and how Bernie Sanders shut him down, which had just happened!

I remember one time that there was breaking news while Colbert was taping his monologue - think it was the announcement of TFG's first meeting with Kim Jong-Un, the dictator he "loves" - so Colbert scrapped his scripted monologue and ad libbed the rest. He takes great pride in keeping up and it certainly showed last night in his interview with Rachel, which was basically the entire show.
