SoCalDem's JournalWho else wonders when Rolls Royce will sue Mittens?
The campaign logo is suspiciously similar..
It's not even his initials.. Ryan came along to give it some validity, but.....
For those of you who loved the "Python" stuff at the closing ceremonies
Here is their magnificence in full flower at their dear friend's funeral.
I've seen it before, but many here probably have not..
If I believed in funerals, this would be my choice.
Why Ryan? Here's why
Their "Hail Mary" maps people are thinking this:
Colorado has a LOT of Mormons.. so does Nevada
Wisconsin has a governor who fought off a recall & Ryan's homestate
Ohio's new voting rules and a rerun of 2004 irregularities might be enough
Michigan is one of Mitten's homestates & their governor has done a lot of "voting stuff" there too
Florida & PA can go to Obama if the racism & vindictiveness of the other states can be ginned up in time..
They can let the oldies fearing SS changes, vote for dems, and if they can fudge their way into getting what;s on the map..they "win"
Romney's new official GOP portrait
Make Room For Daddy
and Mommy & Grammy & Grampy..
If the R & R Gang finagles their way into the White House, they will act with breakneck speed to whittle away at Social Security and other things.
They will have the giddy acceptance of the house and probably the senate too. They will be able to do what was denied Obama.. get things done.
The things they want to do are toxic, but watch them get done anyway.
Look for the student loan interest to double when the "hail Mary extension" expires.
There will be millions of older folks (and some not quite so old yet) who will be unable to afford to live on their own. Medicare deducted from SS checks, and the cost of the supplementals are almost too much for many already....Now make it a lump sum voucher and you can see the problem.
They may just be needing to double up- triple up just to make ends meet.
We USED to be a multi-generational society, but that was quite a while ago. It could get very interesting..

Olympic Medal Map - Day 12
Games without frontiers
Aug 9th 2012, 15:56 by The Economist online
AFFIRMING stereotype, China took all the golds on offer in table tennis, while America's women's beach volleyball teams sauntered to the podium for gold and silver on day 12 of the Games. Our medal map shows that so far, Europe is sweeping canoeing (and maintaining its sweep in equestrian). On day 13, Jamaica's Usain Bolt, who already won gold in the 100m sprint, will compete in the 200m.

If you live in a "swing state" or a "red state", the only way to ensure your vote
and your ability to remain registered, is.......
register as a republican, and use an absentee ballot.
I know that means that voting in primaries is an issue then, but sometimes, choosing the wackiest of opponents is a better thing than voting in a democratic primary
Grecians, Eye-rack-ees & now Shieks
Is it asking too much for the people who want to represent us, to do just a teensy bit of research before opening their big mouths on camera??
The rest of the world is watching us, listening to us..
It's cute when a toddler mispronounces words, but it's far from "cute" when Harvard-educated men who want to be president (and who end up as president) cannot be bothered to learn before they speak..
Eh, Mite??
(The I is long and the second T is silent, isn't it?)
It matters where your money comes from
(For the grammarians, I know it's not correct to end with a preposition)
but I digress..
People are locked up every day when it's found out that their money comes from selling meth, or from selling stolen goods, or from staging fraudulent car accidents, or from embezzling from bosses, or from prostitution..
True, those those things have been officially deemed "illegal", and the money from them is considered dirty money, and is routinely confiscated.
The people who commit "other" monetary crimes are often the same ones who make the laws surrounding the circumstances of the gaining of the same money, or pay large sums of money to the people who make the laws, so it's not all that often that they are caught...and even when caught, few are ever checked into the "Graybar Hotel".
The money from such "enterprises" often cause just as much (if not more) "harm" as any pedestrian crime committed by "lessers".
The fat-cat who runs a company that gobbles up people's jobs and pensions, then grabs the money and runs, may be doing it "legally", but the end result is the same as when a crime is committed.
That is also "dirty money"...blood money when people's health and lives are destroyed by the lack of income and health insurance.
Dirty money gets laundered, but the stench is still there. Cayman sunshine & crisp Swiss Mountain air cannot remove the stink.
