LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) The fallout from the nationwide college admission scheme continued Wednesday with USC announcing its reviewing the applications of students involved in the scandal, which includes Olivia Jade Giannulli, the daughter of actress Lori Loughlin.
USC released the following statement:
Applicants in the current admissions cycle who are connected to the scheme alleged by the government will be denied admission to USC. We are going to conduct a case-by-case review for current students and graduates that may be connected to the scheme alleged by the government. We will make informed, appropriate decisions once those reviews have been completed. Some of these individuals may have been minors at the time of their application process. USC has not released information on what specific actions would be taken as a result of the review.
Loughlin was in federal court Wednesday in Los Angeles, where she and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are accused of paying $500,000 in order for their two daughters to be designated as recruits to the USC crew team despite the fact that neither of them ever participated in crew, the indictment claims. Loughlin was later released on $1 million bond, the same amount on which Giannulli was released Tuesday.

LLC's ( the multiples per person scammy ones)
Scam Charities
Congress needs to legislate these out of existence, or at least regulate them and limit them

Trump weighs in on the "plane thing"
https://www.unilad.co.uk/life/trump-launches-bizarre-attack-on-planes-following-ethiopian-crash/Donald Trump took to his favourite platform, Twitter, to launch a bizarre attack on planes following the crash in Ethiopia.
I dont think we could have expected anything else from the POTUS, really.
Flight ET302, travelling from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, to Nairobi in Kenya, crashed on March 10 just six minutes after taking off. The aviation disaster was the deadliest in Ethiopas history, killing all 149 passengers and eight crew members. It was the second Boeing 737 Max aircraft crash in less than five months.

Airplanes are becoming far too complex to fly. Pilots are no longer needed, but rather computer scientists from MIT. I see it all the time in many products.
Always seeking to go one unnecessary step further, when often old and simpler is far better. Split second decisions are needed, and the complexity creates danger.
All of this for great cost yet very little gain. I dont know about you, but I dont want Albert Einstein to be my pilot. I want great flying professionals that are allowed to easily and quickly take control of a plane!

College entrance was so easy when I was young..Here's how mine worked
I must have been a junior
1-I got excellent grades in hard subjects
2-My guidance counselor called me to her office.
3-She asked me which colleges I was interested in
4-Later in the year my friend & I showed up on a Saturday in the lunchroom for the SAT
( wore our swimsuits under our clothes because we were in a hurry to get out of there & head for the lake)..we raced thru the test and left as quickly as possible
5- Forgot about the whole thing for months (don't even know what my "score" was)
6- Months later letters started showing up.. I got 5 she got 4
I took the one with the most for me..
free ride scholarship at University of Kansas(tuition/books/lodging in the dorm/food) PLUS 2 renewing grants every quarter
I turned down Univ of Nebraska/Missouri/K-State/ & another I forgot
I cannot believe all the drama that's now hanging over kids' heads.
Spring forward..PLEASE!! enough with the snow thing
I did see two robins yesterday...they looked hungry
Montreal converts hospital into homeless shelter (pets allowed)
https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/montreal-turns-iconic-hospital-into-shelter-for-homeless-people-and-their-pets/By Good News Network - Jan 19, 2019
Montreals most historic hospital, closed since 2015, has been transformed into a temporary homeless shelter to ensure that no man (nor beast) will be forced to sleep in the winter cold.
Patient rooms in the former Royal Victoria Hospital have been converted into an 80-bed homeless shelter that is now open to women and menand their pets. The temporary refuge was launched last week after city homeless shelters found themselves filled to capacity and struggling to accommodate rough sleepers amidst falling temperatures.
And because the overwhelming majority of shelters do not allow pets, officials worked to create a situation where people and their animals would be welcomed. Though the hospital will ensure warmth and safety for Montreals homeless until April 15th, provincial legislators will be working with city officials to secure more long-term solutions and permanent housing for when the shelter closes in the spring.

Weve been able to move forward quickly on creating this emergency unit for homeless people, said Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante, according to CBC. Of course, this is for this winter, but what is a positive sign is knowing that our administration wants to find a solution on the long-term.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Two young sisters missing from their Northern California home since Friday afternoon were found alive Sunday following a massive search that included helicopters and tracking dogs.
Leia Carrico, 8, and Caroline Carrico, 5, were found safe and sound on Sunday morning by a fire captain and firefighter who had followed the girls boot tracks, Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal said.
This is an absolute miracle, he said.
Though the girls were dehydrated and cold, they were uninjured and in good spirits, Honsal said.He said the girls were trained in outdoor survival through their local 4-H club and that authorities believed that helped them. They also were wearing boots and had eaten granola bars at some point while they were missing, he said.
To have a positive outcome like this is just absolutely amazing, Honsal said.
