A high school teacher in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. has been removed from the classroom pending an investigation into disparaging remarks he made to a Haitian student, in which he referred to the teens native home as some third-world island country.
A high school teacher in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. has been removed from the classroom pending an investigation into disparaging remarks he made to a Haitian student, in which he referred to the teens native home as some third-world island country.
Palm Beach High School officials said theyre investigating the incident after video of the tense exchange was shared on Facebook, Newsweek reported. A relative of the student said the video has been viewed more than 26,000 times since Friday.
In the clip, the unnamed teacher can be heard berating the student in front of his classmates.
Its called a door, let me show you how it works, he says. I dont know how it works where youre from, down in some third-world island country, where they dont got them. Let me show you what its like in America.
Radio host and Haitian activist James Leger said the teachers comment was undoubtedly racist.

"White people in North America live in a social environment that protects and insulates them from race-based stress. This insulated environment of racial protection builds white expectations for racial comfort while at the same time lowering the ability to tolerate racial stress, leading to what I refer to as White Fragility. White Fragility is a state in which even a minimum amount of racial stress becomes intolerable, triggering a range of defensive moves. These moves include the outward display of emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt, and behaviors such as argumentation, silence, and leaving the stress-inducing situation. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium."

I didn't watch Trump at the police memorial ceremony...
For obvious reasons, of course. I just ate.
Im wondering, however, if any of you did, and if so, other than his routine of harping on his own rampaging narcissism, did he also go out his way to incite racist white paranoia by smearing black and brown bodies as cop killers?
Were he to actually remark upon the demographics of cop killers, I would never expect him to point out the fact that the vast majority are white males, right?
Anybody?

Security questions Black dad deemed suspicious for pushing sick son in a stroller
Donald Sherman was just trying to give his sick son some air.
By TheGrio - May 14, 2018

Another day, another Lets call authorities on Black people for no reason story. Todays story comes from a dad in Washington, DC.
Donald Shermans little boy had a fever, so he stayed home with the tike and decided to take him out for some air at a nearby park, Kingman Island. There was nothing out of the ordinary, just a dad pushing his son in a stroller.
But half an hour into his walk, a security officer in a marked vehicle flagged him down and told him that a woman called in to say that there was a suspicious man walking with a baby on the path.
When the woman was asked to describe the mans race, she reportedly declined to do so. Lucky for Sherman, the security officer did not press him, detain him, or call the actual police. She simply let him know that someone had made a complaint about him.
Sherman is pretty sure the complainant was a white woman on a bike who passed by him and his boy a little earlier. He took to Facebook to explain the situation and why its so dangerous to call police or authorities on Black people for no reason.

By Melanie Eversley - May 13, 2018

At the end of a week that has been eventful for Black people taking part in controversial activities ranging from napping to walking outside of their Airbnb guest home while melanated comes another case out of Harrisburg, Penn. Members of Sigma Gamma Rho sorority were performing community service by cleaning up the area around the 13th Street exit of Highway 83 in Harrisburg when a state trooper pulled up behind the group of young women and asked them if they were fighting, Facebook user Shawna Naomi of Hershey, PA, posted on Saturday. The post has since been deleted.
Ive never seen anyone out here cleaning and Im responding to a call, the trooper said, according to the post.
Naomi and the other sorority members explained who they are and that theyd just finished cleaning up needles, bottles, diapers and other trash, according to the post. The trooper asked for their identification and schools to which they responded with information about their professions and other details, Naomi posted.
The trooper then ran their identification through his system and handed their cards back, Naomi posted. It was only then that he commended the young women for their great work.

Store Manager Stands Outside of Black Womans Dressing Room and Reads Theft Policies
https://twitter.com/Mr_Scorpio/status/995614352198774784
Two Black women confronted a Fuego store manager in Tacoma, WA, who tried to throw the ladies out of the store after claims of being racially profiled.
One of the women entered the dressing room to try on a dress when the store manager read aloud the store procedures outside of her dressing room. Both women then asked the manager what her purpose was for doing so and the employee claimed that staff members discussed theft all the time.
The manager then called authorities and tried to shoo the women away with scornful hand gestures. However, the girls stood their ground and made it clear they didnt feel comfortable leaving the store just to be tackled by security. They wanted to wait for authorities to arrive and explain their side of events.
The victim who goes by Simone Intrepid Gamble posted the incident on her Facebook and wrote, So this just happened. I was in the dressing room and while in there the manager started talking about the procedures for theft. Mind you she was not on the floor when we first arrived to the store. I select dresses then tried them on. I was going to PURCHASE one of the dresses until I heard her speaking directly in front of my dressing room about theft procedures. I then got dressed and went to tell her I wanted to buy one of the dresses and confronted her about her implicit conversation right outside the curtain. She kicked us out of the store when I tried asking her why and she then said all of this.
