Texas campus cop empties gun on unarmed student: ‘Oh, you’re gonna shoot me?’

OK here is your "Police State" Shooting of the Day

$20 says the cop gets cleared of all wrong doing

Texas campus cop empties gun on unarmed student: ‘Oh, you’re gonna shoot me?’

A campus police officer in San Antonio, Texas is under investigation after shooting and killing an unarmed student at an off-campus traffic stop.

At a press conference on Friday, Lt. Cindy Pruitt of the Alamo Heights Police Department said that an altercation occurred when University of the Incarnate Word Cpl. Chris Carter pulled over 23-year-old Robert Cameron Redus just a few blocks off campus at around 2 a.m Friday morning.

A witness who did not wish to be identified recalled to KSAT that the officer never warned Redus before shooting him.

“I didn’t hear him say anything like, ‘Get down on your hands and knees,’ you know? I didn’t hear him say anything. He just started shooting,” the witness said. “He emptied the gun on him…. Boom, boom, boom. Six shots — five or six.”

China pulls out of UN process over territorial dispute with Philippines

China pulls out of UN process over territorial dispute with Philippines

China is taking the highly unusual step of refusing to participate in a United Nations arbitration process over a territorial conflict with the Philippines, one of five countries challenging Beijing’s claims of ownership over the oil-rich South China Sea.

The legal dispute underscores the tough geopolitical approach China is adopting in the Pacific region. It has adopted an aggressive approach toward neighbours over a 2,000-mile stretch that also includes the East China Sea, over which it recently declared the air defence identification zone that has inflamed tensions with Japan and South Korea.

China sent its only aircraft carrier to the disputed waters off the coast of the Philippines for the first time last week, in a move Manila said raised tensions. China’s military said the carrier Liaoning will conduct drills in the area, accompanied by two destroyers and two frigates.

Dealing with the fallout over China’s territorial claims has become the dominant issue for the US vice-president, Joe Biden, who is currently touring the Asia Pacific region.

Top Three Paid Forum Posting Companies

Top Three Paid Forum Posting Companies

Paid Forum Posting is a reasonable way to earn cash. If you like to write and share your opinions on various topics, then this is certainly the easiest job to get. I've signed up for several paid forum posting sites, and the ones I'm about to list are not only very dependable when it comes to payday, but also try as hard as they can to make a successful business, guaranteeing that the sites will continue lasting for years to come. Unlike other money-making schemes on the internet, there is also no need to click any ads, take any surveys, or open up your email to spam. It's just a matter of seeing if any posting jobs are available and if you can snag a spot before someone else does.

snip

Wiredflame.com was the first paid forum posting site I had ever joined. It is a very good place for beginners, because not only is the staff very friendly, but you can also choose how much work you want to do. They currently pay 15 cents for replies and 20 cents for new threads, which is pretty good pay when compared to other sites that offer 5-10 cents per post. The control panel for staff members is very easy to navigate from, and you can request payout whenever you have confirmed your forum posts and have at least $5.00 on your account balance. Payments are made via paypal, and once you request payment, you just need to wait for Friday, which is when all the payouts will occur.

snip

Paidforumposting.com is another site that I frequent to for work. This one I DO NOT recommend for beginners. Understand the concepts of forum posting and the deadlines before trying for a job here. It is simply more strict than the other sites I will list and some of the jobs will require you to do some research on the subject the site is about. I find that many of the jobs I've seen here normally focus on cars, poker, or computers, so if you know anything about these specific topics, you should do very well here. PFP pays 20 cents per post, which is definitely a great deal to come by. However, on this site, you will be assigned a specific number of posts/threads to do for your job, which you must complete by the deadline or face the consequences. They also pay by paypal, and will do so whenever a job is complete: You just need to request payment.

snip

Forumsfirst.com is a forum site that at first, I didn't like. I'm not sure why exactly. I suppose at the time I was so busy with Wiredflame and PFP that I just figured this one would be an alternative to those two sites whenever I felt like using it. Well, I've grown to really enjoy ForumsFirst, because on this site, there are no deadlines! Well, technically there are, but there aren't any deadlines for YOU. Basically, you get paid 20 cents per post to either post in a forum or a blog. I find that I take blog jobs more often because it's a nice little change from posting in forums. FF will rank available jobs based on when the job's deadline is, but after you take a spot, it's up to you to post however much you want until the job expires. It's a bit wacky for me, because although I hate deadlines, I'm used to them, but I've gotten used to it. Payments are made via paypal, as long as you have at least $10.00 in your account.

Cops Accused of Overkill on Sick Woman

Cops Accused of Overkill on Sick Woman

SHERMAN, Texas (CN) - As her husband begged them to "put the gun away," Texas police repeatedly shot and Tasered a demented 67-year-old woman because she wouldn't drop a letter opener, then told the husband they had "saved his ass," the man claims.

David Seyfried sued the City of Lewisville Police Department and six of its officers in Federal Court, for his wife Dolores Seyfried.

Seyfried says he called the Dallas Alzheimer's Association hotline after "Dolores had become agitated with (him) and had a four [to] five-inch letter opener in her hand" at their home in Lewisville, a Dallas suburb.

"Letalien immediately attempted to remove David from the back yard while holding an orange shotgun in his hand," the complaint states. "David became very upset once he saw the shotgun and believed at that time that there was no need for such measures. David repeatedly pleaded with Letalien to 'put the gun away' and explained that he can calm her down and that no force would be needed.

North Korea deports elderly US tourist who advised South Korean guerrillas during war

Source: FOSTER KLUG Associated Press

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) -- North Korea on Saturday freed an 85-year-old U.S. veteran of the Korean War after a weekslong detention, ending the saga of Merrill Newman's attempt to visit the North as a tourist six decades after he oversaw a group of South Korean wartime guerrillas still loathed by Pyongyang.

North Korea made the decision after Newman, who was detained since late October, apologized for his alleged crimes, which Pyongyang linked in part to his work with the South Korean partisan group. North Korea also cited his age and medical condition.

"I am very glad to be on my way home," a smiling Newman told reporters after arriving at the airport in Beijing from Pyongyang. "And I appreciate the tolerance the (North Korean) government has given to me to be on my way."

"I feel good," Newman said, adding with a laugh that the first thing he planned to do was "go home and see my wife."

Police "War Games" And Weapons Expo Brings Global Militarized Elite to Oakland

Friday marked the beginning of the seventh annual “Urban Shield” event, in which law enforcement agencies from across the globe participate in war games and attend a weapons technology show.

The event, which ran until October 28, was sponsored by weapons manufacturers such as ATK, which makes everything from small caliber bullets to depleted uranium ammunition, and Safariland, which exports tear gas to governments across the world.

Though it’s a global event, Urban Shield has historically been held in California because it’s overseen by a California-based private firm, Cytel Inc. The host city changes annually.

Deputy in Andy Lopez shooting to resume duty next week

Source: Paul Payne

A Sonoma County sheriff's deputy who shot and killed a 13-year-old Santa Rosa boy after mistaking a BB gun he was carrying for an assault rifle will return to duty next week, a sheriff's spokesman said Friday.

Dep. Erick Gelhaus has been on leave since the Oct. 22 shooting of Andy Lopez. Gelhaus underwent mental health screening and will come back to work in an administrative capacity, said Assistant Sheriff Lorenzo Duenas.

He will remain on the desk assignment until District Attorney Jill Ravitch reviews an investigative report and makes a finding about whether he committed criminal wrongdoing, Duenas said.

Get this - Gelhaus is returning to duty so he can testify IN DEFENSE of an illegal firearm

Macfarlane contends he didn't know his Kel-Tec SU-16CA was on a list of weapons that are banned in California. He wants Gelhaus to testify because he said Gelhaus looked at the gun and couldn't determine if it was legal.

Unarmed Man Charged In Shooting After Cops Missed Him But Hit Women

Man is indicted on the theory that he was responsible for injuries suffered by bystanders

After New York City police shot at but missed an emotionally disturbed man who was throwing himself in front of cars near Times Square, the man is now being charged for assault of the two bystanders who cops shot instead.

According to an indictment unsealed Wednesday, 35-year-old Glenn Broadnax of Brooklyn has been charged with assault on the theory that he was responsible for the wounds suffered by two bystanders in September, the New York Times reports. After he lurched into traffic, police officers tried to contain Broadnax. He then allegedly reached into his pocket, prompting two police officers to open fire. They missed, hitting two women nearby while a police sergeant brought Broadnax down with a Taser.

Broadnax was initially arrested for menacing, drug possession and resisting arrest, but a grand jury said he “recklessly engaged in conduct which created a grave risk of death.” The felony assault charge carries a maximum sentence of 25 years.
