Ilsa
Ilsa's JournalAnd Merry Christmas to you, Mr. President.
Nice Christmas speech and well-wishes. No bragging. No lying. Just a happy holiday greeting.
What's your favorite non-NFT Joe Biden nongrifting picture?
Here's just one of my favs:
(I don't care about the 'vetted vs Porsche debate.)
I watched Amsterdam on HBO a few days ago.
Christian Bale was fabulous. (He's looking a little thin, to me.)
Good story. The very end of the movie had short video of Gen. Smedley Butler.
I drove past several polling places in heavily red Forsyth County on
my way to see a doctor. The sites were NOT busy.
Knock on wood, I smell a blowout coming.
A quick Google of the suspect's name yielded this bomb threat story:

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Friday afternoon around 2:00 p.m., deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Offices responded to reports of a bomb threat on Rubicon Drive in the Lorson Ranch neighborhood, just south of the Colorado Springs Airport.
The suspect, 21-year old Anderson Lee Aldrich, refused to comply with deputies' orders to surrender. It was reported to the Sherrif's Office that he had a homemade bomb, multiple weapons, and ammunition.
A Tactical Support Unit, which includes the Regional Explosives Unit was called in. Around 10 homes were evacuated in the surrounding area, while an emergency text notification was sent out to homes within a 1/4-mile radius of the address.
The Regional Explosives Unit cleared both homes and did not find any explosive devices.
At around 6:00 p.m., the suspect was taken into custody and has been booked into the El Paso County Jail. Aldrich faces two counts of Felony Menacing and three counts of First-Degree Kidnapping.
Just curious: did TLG make an arse of himself at Tiff's wedding? nt
My dog died.
She was the (very) older of the two. Really smart and sweet. I'm so tired of feeling sad.
Both dogs appeared to be grieving the other losses in our family, but she stopped eating. I took her into the vet. I have no idea what my finances are going to look like, so I couldn't hospitalize her. We tried other treatment over the last week, but she was getting progressively worse.
What can I do for my grieving dogs?
One won't hardly leave my bedroom. I guess he's afraid I will "disappear" like my husband did last month (sudden death).
The other one is even more mopey. She doesn't want to play. She barely eats her dog food, but she'll hang around for table scraps. They both have lost weight.
It's hard enough on us. but now my dogs are hurting too.
I will never be an elder-caregiver again.
My MIL was total care the last couple of months of her life. I hired a little help to care for her during the week, but most of her care still fell on me. She finally passed peacefully, using morphine drops for perceived discomfort at home.
I won't have to worry about caring for my husband as he ages because because he died a few weeks before his mother. There is no doubt in my mind that this stress and other chronic stressors contributed to his demise. My sweetheart is gone. My children's father is gone. I won't have a partner in retirement. I had to make his mom's funeral arrangements. As I told the social worker, I feel fucked over in addition to being sad, depressed, tired, and angry.
BTW, I will be deleting my thread in a few days just because I don't want family accidentally finding it.
And that, my friends, has been my adventure in elder-caregiving.
Desperate, crazy anti-Warnock ad in Georgia:
"Joe Biden and Raphael Warnock believe a man can get pregnant. They believe a boy can become a girl by giving him female hormones and surgical amputation. Tell Warnock and Biden Hands off our kids."
Because Biden is forcing transgender kids to change? It's ridiculous, and I fully expect it to be a Qanon talking bullshit by dinnertime.
