Mushrooms!!

Mrs Opiate and I went to the local mushroom festival last weekend... very fun event.. anyway, I picked up a kit of oyster mushrooms, which should be fruiting in the next week or two. Also picked up some shiitake plugs which I used to seed a cherry tree log. Won`t see anything edible for at least a year there though. A good friend of mine is also a very experienced mushroom hunter and I`m going to start going picking with him this fall... anyone else into growing delectable fungi??

Shaun of the.... Patriarchy??

http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?p=23896061

Sorry.. Can't seem to copy blocks of text on this tablet... In any case, Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) got himself into a little twitter war with a couple of radfem knuckleheads over a couple really harmless tweets of his. (wonder if any of the HoFers have twitter accounts??)

Meeting Larry Flint next month!!

The wife wanted to stop by our local misogyny emporium (aka Hustler Hollywood) again last night to cash in on her membership rewards. While we were browsing, one of the fine, er, exploited, young saleswomen who knows us from our many visits informed us that the bossman is scheduled for an in-store next month.... I think we`re going to pick up a copy of "The People vs. Larry Flint" and maybe his newest book and have him sign them. Should be a fun afternoon!

Need to sell my car... 1974 BMW 2002.

Mostly restored/rebuilt. Previous owner put TONS of work into it. I have a file folder full of the work he had done, including complete interior, rebuilt engine with high performance camshaft, ignition, carbs etc. NADA lists at $9900 low, $14,000+ average. Looking to get $7500. Olympia, Washington area. PM for more info. Thanks.

Mariners! No-hit Dodgers in a combined effort.

Millwood left the game early with a pulled groin.

Broccoli question...

Hi all... so, we have a broccoli plant which currently has one huge (approx 6 inches across) head in the center of it... I was told that popping that off would lead to other heads sprouting on the rest of the plant... is this right?

howdy.. I`m Opie.

or, Rick if you`re nice. I first came to DU back in `03. I`ve had periods where I posted quite regularly, and others where I went months without posting anything. Despite the occasional snark, I really don`t harbor any ill-will for anyone here. My main haunts are atheists/agnostics, mens group, GD and once in a while I`ll post music videos which nobody seems to want to hear in the lounge lol.
