Hillary is part of the oligarchy and will not change "the Establishment"

This is what Bernie's Campaign is all about.

Is America an Oligarchy?
BY JOHN CASSIDY
From the Dept. of Academics Confirming Something You Already Suspected comes a new study concluding that rich people and organizations representing business interests have a powerful grip on U.S. government policy. After examining differences in public opinion across income groups on a wide variety of issues, the political scientists Martin Gilens, of Princeton, and Benjamin Page, of Northwestern, found that the preferences of rich people had a much bigger impact on subsequent policy decisions than the views of middle-income and poor Americans. Indeed, the opinions of lower-income groups, and the interest groups that represent them, appear to have little or no independent impact on policy....

Testing Theories of American Politics: Elites, Interest Groups, and Average Citizens
Martin Gilens and Benjamin I. Page

ABSTRACT
Each of four theoretical traditions in the study of American politics—which can be characterized as theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy, Economic-Elite Domination, and two types of interest-group pluralism, Majoritarian Pluralism and Biased Pluralism—offers different predictions about which sets of actors have how much influence over public policy: average citizens; economic elites; and organized interest groups, mass-based or business-oriented.
A great deal of empirical research speaks to the policy influence of one or another set of actors, but until recently it has not been possible to test these contrasting theoretical predictions against each other within a single statistical model. We report on an effort to do so, using a unique data set that includes measures of the key variables for 1,779 policy issues.
Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence. The results provide substantial support for theories of Economic-Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism, but not for theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism.

The last paragraph of their findings:

Despite the seemingly strong empirical support in previous studies for theories of majoritarian democracy, our analyses suggest that majorities of the American public actually have little influence over the policies our government adopts. Americans do enjoy many features central to democratic governance, such as regular elections, freedom of speech and association, and a wide-spread (if still contested) franchise. But we believe that if policymaking is dominated by powerful business organizations and a small number of affluent Americans, then America’s claims to being a democratic society are seriously threatened.
https://scholar.princeton.edu/sites/default/files/mgilens/files/gilens_and_page_2014_-testing_theories_of_american_politics.doc.pdf

"...America’s claims to being a democratic society are seriously threatened."

I don't know if we will get another chance to change things if we wait for them to further consolidate their power. I especially believe that Hillary's court appointees will not be inclined to limit the power of money.

Why didn't Hillary vote for the 2007 energy efficiency and renewable energy bill?

Title: Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007
Taking Hillary Clinton Supporters at their word, we know that Hillary did not vote for this bill? Are we to conclude that she is against energy efficiency efforts and renewable energy???

The text of the bill is below the Clinton Campaign propaganda.

Clinton ethics claim another victim as Rachel Maddow plays chart game

Rachel's narration:

"Now, if you ask Democratic voters who they expect to be their nominee in November the answer is a very clear and consistent one since the beginning of this campaign. Democratic voters have expected Hillary Clinton to be the candidate who will win the nomination in the end since the very beginning of this campaign.

http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show (starts just after 7 min.)

Note the dates in this chart that backdropped that statement: 1/25/16 - 2/7/16

For the record, this is what the chart to represent her claim actually looks like:

For those who will glom onto the difference between voter preference and voter forecast I have two replies:
1) Why did she truncate the timeline in her chart down to 2 weeks while discussing a timeframe of more than 1 year, and
2) She knows that the precise phrasing she used isn't a common polling question and that phrasing adds nothing to the narrative that is not found in the voter preference poll numbers. This is the part that is most damning IMO as it shows a deliberate effort as opposed to just a producer's mistake.

Rachel has been pushing the boundaries in her support for Clinton, but this is the kind of behavior she is famous for exposing. Clinton ethics claim another victim.

Move over 538!!! CNN Nevada poll today: Clinton 48% Sanders 47%

Poll: Clinton, Sanders in a dead heat for Nevada

Washington (CNN)Likely Democratic caucusgoers in Nevada are split almost evenly between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders ahead of Saturday's caucuses, according to a new CNN/ORC Poll.

Though Clinton holds an edge over Sanders on handling a range of top issues, the results suggest the extremely close race hinges on divided opinions on the economy.

Overall, 48% of likely caucus attendees say they support Clinton, 47% Sanders. Both candidates carry their demographic strong points from prior states into Nevada, with Clinton holding an edge among women, while Sanders tops the former secretary of state among voters under age 55...

Nope. Both say they will fix it. Only one actually intends to follow through

The other is just pandering because she is heavily indebted to the pharmaceutical industry.

Single payer is what will fix the problem.

Request for help researching HRC on MTP re abortion

This video clip from Real clear politics archive was posted 29 Sept 2015. It seems to show a 30 second clip of Clinton in that interview making a statement on abortion. The clothing looks to be the same as she wore for an MTP interview with Chuck Todd that was done on 27 Sept 2015.

I wanted to see the context of the answer to better understand the question but when I reviewed the original it didn't seem to be there.

Can I get confirmation and any opinions about what might be taking place?

RCP video: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2015/09/29/hillary_clinton_i_could_compromise_on_abortion_if_it_included_exceptions_for_mothers_health.html

MTP "full interview" from 27 Sept 2015:

I''ve probably just missed it, but if so, I can't correct my mistake on my own.

Time publishes retraction on Bernie photos "Photo Really Does Show Bernie Sanders"

Photographer Says Disputed 1962 Photo Really Does Show Bernie Sanders
Sam Frizell @Sam_Frizell 4:53 PM ET

The photographer who captured civil rights efforts at the University of Chicago fifty years ago says that recently discovered evidence proves that a young man in a disputed 1962 photo is, in fact, Bernie Sanders.

The 1962 photo of a man leading a sit-in against segregated housing at the university, which Sanders’ campaign had been promoting to illustrate his involvement in the civil rights movement, came under scrutiny after TIME published an article last year with accounts by four alumni who doubted Sanders was the young man in the photo.

Now, photographer Danny Lyon—today a well-known chronicler of the Civil Rights-era—told TIME he believes that newly-found photo contact sheets settle questions about the dramatic 1962 picture.

The contact sheets, reviewed by TIME, show pictures of the 21-year-old Sanders sitting on the floor wearing a rough, brown sweater and white shirt in what appears to be the same room as the disputed photo. The clothing Sanders is wearing on the floor in the recently discovered contact sheets looks to be the same as the clothing the young man is wearing in the photo in question.

Moreover, Lyon said ...
