Republicans:

Desperately Seeking (Obama) Scandal!

November 15, 2012

What happened with the "True the Vote" folks?

They seemed poised to muck up elections all over the country in the name of preventing "voter fraud" by showing up at polling places and challenging (Democratic) voters. Did anybody encounter/witness them where they voted and did they make much of an impact on the election (if any)?

The GOP is becoming increasingly obnoxious

they can't get their way on their merits, so they're busy just trying to nibble everything they can to death..........

Ambassador Londo Mollari: But this - this, this, this is like being nibbled to death by... what are those Earth creatures called? Feathers, long bill, webbed feet... go 'quack'...
Ambassador Vir Cotto: Cats.
Ambassador Londo Mollari: Cats. Being nibbled to death by cats.

and, ironically, only have themselves to blame

if they had just raised the #$(*(*)%(#&@( debt ceiling and/or pushed for/supported a genuinely bipartisan plan to reduce the deficit, they wouldn't have been put in this position. And, remember, whenever a right winger starts trying to revise history to make it seem that mean ol' President Obama bullied and pushed Boehner, McConnell, et. al, just remind them that Boehner was happy about the deal at the time and told all of us that he got "98%" of what he wanted. And remind them of how horribly Boehner failed to lead his caucus to get something done in the "Supercommittee".

It's amazing how eager they are to investigate the deaths of 4 Americans in Libya on 09/11/12

and how they and other Republicans had to be practically dragged kicking and screaming after 2-3 years into investigating the death of 3K Americans on 09/11/01 or how they NEVER investigated the lies, corruption, and deceit that lead to the deaths of 4K-5K Americans in Iraq from 2003-2011.

I thought that these guys were "serious" about reducing the deficit?

Guess not- or they just assumed that we would be impressed by their 2010 "mandate" and agree to cut Social Security, Medicare, and just about every program they don't like but extend the Bush Tax Cuts and/or make them permanent and unnecessarily boost defense spending? Have I got that right?

The most astounding part of this whole "crisis"

is that the Republicans were the chief architect of it- in the name of getting serious about the debt/deficit and are now basically trying to wriggle out of the deal. They decided last year that they wanted a huge showdown over the debt ceiling, which, of course, led to the failed supercommittee, which then led to the sequestration deal that the Republicans are upset about. They are even rewriting history to make it look like President Obama forced them into the deal.

I don't know if the polls were "skewed" that much

but the ones favoring a close race and/or favoring Romney seemed to be cherry-picked and trumpeted while polls showing things were better for President Obama were minimized. Not to mention that several pollsters mysteriously appeared seemingly out of nowhere cranking out more positive numbers for Romney, which were, of course, dutifully and (mostly) uncritically plugged into the polling aggregators. Of course, too, most pollsters seemed to be focused on the national polls- which seemed to favor Romney on most days- rather than the state-by-state polls that favored President Obama and remained fairly stable during the entire campaign and most of which Romney never even held a lead

The media kept portraying the election as a close one that could go either way on election day. I never saw it. There was simply little or no actual enthusiasm for Romney/Ryan and the policies they were pushing, certainly nowhere the level of support and enthusiasm for President Obama. The "enthusiasm" for Romney/Ryan seemed perfunctory at best and mostly directed towards the goal of defeating President Obama. I don't think some Romney/Ryan voters actually cared who they were voting for just as long as it wasn't Barack Obama.

I thought that it was hilarious that Rove accused Obama of "suppressing voters" by attacking Romney

and calling him out on his lies. When I heard about that, my brain nearly exploded at the hypocrisy.

Nothing

It's a BS meme made up by crazies and loons to scare people into voting against President Obama/Democrats. Socialism is the "new" Communism for them. Most people don't even have a real understanding of the word. They're just instinctively supposed to know or think that it's something "bad" and to be feared. That's the long and short of it.
