talking about what things will look like the DAY AFTER ACA gets repealed? If they are going to continue to push Republican narratives about ACA- that it is so terribly flawed that it should be repealed, they should at least be honest enough to inform people what things are going to look like once it's repealed and what the Republican "alternatives" are so that people whom signed up for coverage through ACA know exactly what to expect. Of course, I'm cynical and depressed about the MSM enough to know that this will NEVER be allowed to happen but it would be nice if somebody would at least point this out once in awhile. It's not a perfect law and like any big program, it's going to have some bugs to work out (it's simply inevitable) but instead of discussing possible solutions and coming together to work them out, the Republicans- with help from the MSM- are jumping on (and will continue jumping on) every single problem as another reason to just dump the whole thing and start over with......nothing.
I hate this sort of nonsense
President Obama didn't declare total warfare on the Republican Party on day one and tried more than most Presidents to really be a true bipartisan President but the Republicans and to anybody saying that this is just "he said/she said" childhood bickering, there is evidence aplenty which party is more to blame for the state of gridlock/partisanship and it ain't the Democrats under President Obama. Whenever somebody spouts off about this, I wish that somebody would respond by asking what the Republicans are doing to build a "personal relationship" with President Obama. As any good relationship/marriage counselor will tell you, relationships are a two way street.
One of the things I hate most about MSM coverage/punditry regarding President Obama
is that their relentless focus on HIM, HIS poll numbers, and HIS legacy totally excludes the role that Republicans have played in obstructing him at every turn (and to the extent that it IS mentioned, practically blames President Obama for it) not to mention prevents them from asking the Republicans to outline THEIR agenda and ideas (of which they seem to have none). There is almost no apparent focus on Republican shortcomings, their dismal poll numbers, and obvious lack of talent/leadership/vision. The Republicans have basically sought- since 2009- to profit politically almost solely off of President Obama's mistakes, missteps, shortcomings, and failure to overcome their obstructionism and the MSM have tried their hardest to help them do just that. Thankfully, for the most part, they have failed though embracing the fringe of their party helped them do well in 2010 but they are still going to try to make the 2014 and 2016 elections about President Obama and his (they hope) "failed legacy". Their relentlessly negative coverage of ACA seems to be one of the ways the MSMS plan on helping Republicans electorally in 2014 and it makes me sick to my stomach to think that the public- at least enough of them- is going to buy into their never ending repeal campaign despite their complete dearth of viable ideas to replace it and the negative impact it is almost certainly going to have on the millions of people enrolling into private plans and/or Medicaid through it.
Depending on who you ask
the fact that we're NOT actively at war with Iran yet is a bad thing. I imagine many of the same people are also probably very upset that their attempts to kill the economy haven't been successful. None of the overhyped "scandals" have amounted to much either, which must also drive the wingers nuts because they've been looking for an excuse to impeach President Obama for since day one. The fact that many of them are talking about it without being able to come up with a justification for it is pretty stunning IMHO. Rumors of President Obama's political demise have been as consistent throughout his Presidency as they have been drastically exaggerated beyond all reasonableness. I'm sick of the false equivalencies between Bush and Obama. When Healthcare.gov starts bombing (who knows how many people) in another country and sending thousands of our own to an early grave and is unable to find phantom WMDs and fails to adequately respond to a natural disaster that also results in several deaths, and, on top of everything else, results in a massive economic recession maybe THEN we can compare the two. Otherwise.........
Oh, and by the way, I'm sure that President Obama likes his approval ratings more than Republicans probably do
It's so petty IMHO
Anybody who gets upset about it really has too much time on their hands and/or an agenda (which most wingnuts who complain about the nonexistent war on Christmas do). To me, it's really a back door way to get legislators to enshrine Christianity as the "official" and superior religion in this country.
I think they have to keep putting them on
Lest they get accused of "liberal media bias"- even though they get accused of it anyway no matter what. And, frankly, there is really nobody else on the "conservative" side to put on, which is sort of scary when you think about it.......
Oh, you mean the Senate was operating "smoothly"
before they launched their all-out war of obstruction against President Obama?
He was a classic definition of "empty suit" IMHO
To this day, I don't understand why he ran for President or what he would've wanted to do if he had won. My guess is that he would've probably just allowed the presumably Republican-led House and the Senate to just crank stuff out for him to sign?
It's seriously depressing to think that the RW might succeed electorally
in spite of everything they pull and their fierce opposition to anything and everything that might actually help people. What's even worse is that their supporters and some other people wind up getting duped into believing their lies that they wind up fighting against themselves and their best interests.
I find it hilarious how some pundits lump MSNBC in with Fox (not-news)
and put out questionable statistic suggesting that most of its programming is more opinion than fact when Fox spews nothing but right wing/RNC talking points non-stop. MSNBC certainly has some more left-leaning major hosts/programming than, say, CNN, and definitely Fox (does Fox have ANY shows helmed by a Democrat or left-leaning pundit?) but MSNBC is anything but a 24-7-365 propaganda tool for left the same way that Fox is a 24-7-365 tool for the right. The false equivalency BS really gets on my nerves. I'd be ecstatic if we had a major news network like Fox (as long it was truthful, of course) but there's nothing like Fox for the left out there AFAIK.
