Mad_Machine76's JournalI am going to take a wild guess
That they neither presented an alternative solution, nor were asked to provide one, right? The GnoP has become almost entirely defined by their opposition to all things Obama. They have spent almost no time (if any) during the past years detailing an alternative to anything they furiously fought against- which, would, in a sane world (with more people voting), mean that they would be deemed unfit to continue to hold any kind of office, let alone Presidency but we know otherwise. Another thing that continues to befuddle me is that most of the American public seems to disapprove of President Obama specifically while they support his policies and oppose Republican policies. Why he is so "toxic" to so many people? Racism?
I just can't figure out how/why people do this in the first place
Unless you're whacked out of your mind, intoxicated, under the influence, etc., you don't just "forget" to take your infant, child, dog, etc. out of the car when you get out of it...........period- and it's just not safe to leave ANY kids alone in a car for any length of time, especially during extreme weather conditions. Parental negligence, stupidity, substance abuse problems, etc. Are the real culprits here, though unless we can think of some safety measures that we can put in cars, I'm not sure how to prevent injury/death.
At some point
They will probably attempt to take credit for it though I wonder if people will actually fall for it.
I thought
That that is what Barack Obama already has done (or at least that's what the right has been saying about him since day 1)? Different day, new bogeyman for the right. Is it natural to live in a perpetual state of fear?
Over a drafting error? Really?
I know that it's possible, it's just totally insane that something like this- after all else the Republicans have thrown against the law- that would be the one thing that could potentially destroy the law. And it's not like it's not something that can't be fixed in five seconds assuming we had a Congress motivated to do it. It's too bad that it's not something that President Obama could fix administratively. The good news is that if the full Appeals Court overturns the panel's ruling (as is likely to happen), then the chances of it going to SCOTUS are considerably lower- if not non-existent.
We Americans seem to think that suffering
Is not only expected but demanded by the Gods and if things ever start getting too easy, we need to start punishing ourselves again. I suspect that there is a strain of harsh Puritanism that runs through the psyche of our society?
I don't necessarily agree
That a Republican Senate will blockade a SCOTUS appointment. The PR damage would be too much for them. And Obama won't have to nominate a Scalito clone either.
Too busy to rid our country of a so-called "Tyrant"
What would our founding fathers have to say about that?
Or maybe President Obama isn't really a tyrant?
Give them time
For awhile, they weren't talking about breaching the debt ceiling or shutting down the government either let alone actually doing any of those things. This "lawsuit" that Boehner is pushing is idiotic but that won't satisfy the crazies who really want impeachment and I believe that eventually the Republicans in the House will take a bite of that apple. Gotta keep their base happy so that they will continue to blindly vote for them, right?
