"You'll take these few breadcrumbs and LIKE THEM (oh and shut up about marriage)!!!"
Yeah, talk about defeatism
If we follow that logic, then we shouldn't have ANY laws on the books............because somebody, somewhere, sometime, is going to not follow them.
So, is Graham saying that any legislation that couldn't have prevented Newtown
should be ignored/obstructed/defeated? He acknowledged the system is broken but that proposed changes wouldn't have prevented it and we just shouldn't do anything? Did I read that correctly?
And the big deal is because........?
More people voting is good, right? Well, I guess not for Republicans, tho
Legislatures sure love to "play doctor" don't they?

I'm always surprised that real doctors don't get more upset about it
I agree with what you're saying for the most part
however, I do question how healthy their choices are in regards to pushing this on their children (i.e. having the kids raise their younger siblings as they are constantly being pushed out, not to mention not being able to be available for all of their children all the time- they have to all wear name tags I believe?). Also, as far as not "pushing their religion on their viewers", as I understand it, the Quiverfull movement is essentially about creating a more "Christian" society by increasing reproduction of children whom are then indoctrinated into their belief system. I don't know how successful or realistic a means of creating a "Christian" society the Quiverfull movement has been so far (probably not very) but its overarching goal is eventually dominion over everybody else (not just peaceful co-existence), so it's not just some family tradition that doesn't seek to impose itself on everybody else.
It's not even technically in the bible (same-sex marriage)
but then again sometimes I think that the fundies just assume that nobody else but them actually bothers to read the Bible and knows what it does (or does not) say or believe that they have access to some secret stash of "God knowledge" that only they can access (maybe by reading it backwards or upside down perhaps?)
Did he support the Iraq War?
Well then, he can go pound sand as far as I'm concerned!
It's amazing
that he thinks that there was actually a good reason(s) for women (anybody really) to vote for them
Yes but
Any legislation would still have to go through the House too and an AWB is going to get (pardon the pun) shot down there even if it gets through the Senate. Better IMHO to focus on things like universal background checks and other things that stand a better chance of passage.
