and right-wing extremists.
Whether it's working to add these organizations to my spam honeypot lists to the point where they are blocked entirely, making sure their psycho "theories" of "cultural Marxism", "white genocide", or "immigrant invasions" are referred to as just that... conspiracy theories, deplatforming them both bottom-up (users of social media) and top-down (sites themselves), making sure the violent ones are called *WHITE NATIONALIST TERRORISTS* and not "misunderstood 20-year-old boys", and more; it all comes from
something, and no the point of this thread is not to justify the validity of my actions as some have come out against, Brenton Tarrant didn't care to "debate" or "discuss" his conspiracy theory he held with the people he murdered. And so blah, blah, blah, I don't care about that, after a while here, I will close the tab on DU for a while and see what I can do against white nationalist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, far-right degenerates today, like I do every day.
The point of this thread is the "something", and that something is
resources and
capital:
- I have resources and capital, even though I live paycheck to paycheck, I still have the things to use to fight back against white nationalist terrorism
- I have access to electronics, bots, algorithms, and more
- I have access to education, documents, and manuals that help me out in this regard
- I have access to time to allow me to do it
- I have access to white privilege that also reminds me this is also a responsibility
- I have access to resources to help me cope, it's not fun or pretty dealing with the disgusting things I have to encounter on top of the ethical questions I have asked myself when it comes to deplatforming, but I can return to it
Meanwhile, there are segments of America, and black America in particular, that don't have these same resources I have... in the past year alone, too many black Americans have died and they shouldn't have died to begin with and we all seem to forget that there is a pandemic raging around the world, and we were all ready to shut down, but when it was revealed that black Americans and the elderly die at higher rates, then guess what? We get to reopen, must not be that bad. Might make black America feel "disposable", like they have no value in the eyes of their government and fellow Americans.
I have the resources to keep my fight an "information fight", but there are those who don't have those resources...
So I can kinda get why they are resorting to rioting.
What did we expect was going to happen when we have a government and culture that devalues and dehumanizes black lives?
