“Jeopardy!” fans are breathing a sigh of relief, but still expressing outrage, over the thought that unvaccinated NFL star Aaron Rodgers could have been the famed game show’s host.

Rodgers, 37, recently tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the Green Bay Packers’ game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

The football player was a guest host on the show this past April as the show seeks a permanent replacement for the late Alex Trebek. While he was in the running for the gig, Rodgers quipped that he wanted to quit his day job as a sports star to host the series permanently.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has caused a media flurry after announcing his positive COVID-19 diagnosis and unvaccinated status. Now, CNN Business reports that Rodgers has ended his partnership with Prevea Health—another blow to the embattled football star. Rodgers, who has been a spokesperson for Prevea Health since 2012, released a joint statement with the company on Saturday announcing the termination. “Prevea Health remains deeply committed to protecting its patients, staff, providers, and communities amidst the COVID-19 pandemic,” wrote the company in a statement. “This includes encouraging and helping all eligible populations to become vaccinated against COVID-19 to prevent the virus from further significantly impacting lives and livelihoods.”

On Friday, Rodgers ignited a firestorm after comparing his anti-vaxxer experience to that of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. When a reporter asked him months ago if he had been vaccinated, Rodgers responded only by saying that he’s “immunized.”

The United States House of Representatives passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, a once-in-generation bipartisan infrastructure bill that will create millions of jobs, turn the climate crisis into an opportunity, and put us on a path to win the economic competition for the 21st Century.

It will create good-paying jobs that can’t be outsourced. Jobs that will transform our transportation system with the most significant investments in passenger and freight rail, roads, bridges, ports, airports, and public transit in generations.

This will make it easier for companies to get goods to market more quickly and reduce supply chain bottlenecks now and for decades to come. This will ease inflationary pressures and lower costs for working families.

The bill will create jobs replacing lead water pipes so every family can drink clean water.

It will make high-speed internet affordable and available everywhere in America.

This bill will make historic and significant strides that take on the climate crisis. It will build out the first-ever national network of electric vehicle charging stations across the country. We will get America off the sidelines on manufacturing solar panels, wind farms, batteries, and electric vehicles to grow these supply chains, reward companies for paying good wages and for sourcing their materials from here in the United States, and allow us to export these products and technologies to the world.

It will also make historic investments in environmental clean-up and remediation, and build up our resilience for the next superstorms, droughts, wildfires, and hurricanes that cost us billions of dollars in damage each year.

The 17-year-old son of Virginia Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin attempted to cast a ballot twice on Election Day despite being too young to vote, local elections officials said on Friday.

Youngkin’s son, who is not being named because he is a minor, tried unsuccessfully to vote at a polling place in Great Falls, Va., which was not the assigned voting location for his home address, officials told News4, an NBC News television affiliate in Washington, D.C.

Election workers turned the teen away after they determined he was ineligible to vote, Fairfax County election officials said. He returned 30 minutes later and requested another ballot before being turned away again, News4 reported.

The Fairfax County Office of Elections told News4 it was investigating the incident but noted that it's unclear whether any laws were broken since the teen presented proper identification and did not end up casting a vote.

Three professors filed a lawsuit against the University of Florida on Friday, claiming school officials violated their right to free speech by trying to prevent them from offering testimony in a voting rights case.

The case further inflames a heated debate over academic freedom, one that has brought national attention and criticism to the state flagship university.

It was filed on the same day school officials reversed course: After a week of controversy and pushback from faculty, alumni and academics across the country, the University of Florida on Friday said the three political science professors should not be barred from testifying in a voting rights lawsuit against the administration of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).

The complaint by the professors contends the university is discriminating against them based on viewpoints they wish to express, and by trying to prevent them from offering expert testimony on issues of overwhelming public importance, UF violated their First Amendment rights.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has conducted two searches at the homes of people tied to the right-wing activist group Project Veritas, as part of an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a diary reportedly belonging to President Biden’s daughter, the contents of which became public just before the 2020 election, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.,,,,

O’Keefe’s statement, however, did not address the other right-wing website’s claims that someone from Project Veritas had provided them a digital copy of the diary.

At the time, most media outlets, including conservative ones, did not cover the publication of the digital images from the diary. Throughout the presidential campaign, President Donald Trump and his allies were far more fixated on attacking Hunter Biden, Ashley Biden’s half brother. Separately, Hunter Biden confirmed last December that his taxes are under federal investigation.....

“Within an hour of one of our reporters’ homes being secretly raided by the FBI, the New York Times, who we are currently suing for defamation, contacted the Project Veritas reporter to ask for comment,” O’Keefe said. “We do not know how the New York Times was aware of the execution of a search warrant at our reporter’s home, or the subject matter of the search warrant, as a grant jury investigation is secret.”

He lashed out at the Justice Department for claiming the diary was stolen and investigating the matter, saying it “smacks of politics.” According to the Times, the probe was opened under the jurisdiction of Trump’s Justice Department, led by then-Attorney General William P. Barr, after federal authorities received a report that Ashley Biden had been burglarized.
