About Me

I am who that I am...I can be no other! No gods, no masters, no leaders! YOU are both your salvation and your Satan! Exclamation points are cool!

"And Your Bird Can Sing" - The Beatles - Anthology - Always makes me laugh

sigh

MY secret sauce!

1 tbs Ketchup (no HFCS)
1 tbs Mustard (any kind)
1 tbs Armadillo Willy's Jalepeno BBQ Sauce
1 tbs French Dressing
1 tbs Mayonaise
1/2 tbs Picklelilly

Mix and enjoy on a burger.

Preferrably the ones I made with turkey bacon and cheddar cheese, on Whole Wheat buns...

Merry Christmas DU!

May you all have a beautiful Christmas, and a wonderful new year

If you get a divorce this year, may it work out for the best

If you have children, may you let them know you love them

If you have a girlfriend or boyfriend, may you let them know they are the apple of your eye

If you have a dog or cat, may they live on to make you feel loved, and may you live on to make them feel loved

I love you all guys, even if that's sometimes not so clear

Even my detractors...

I DID IT!!!! I F'ING DID IT!!! I RECORDED MY FIRST TRACK!!!

Not the greatest, but was able to use Audacity to record drum track, add bass, wurlitzer, hammond, minimoog and guitar.

It's a start and I am psyched!!!!

Never filter your reading list

Sure, if a book sucks, chuck it. I gave up on several books by Grisham.

But never ever filter your reading list.

Do not exclude a book because you think it might be "exploitative" or "offensive."

If a book is any good, it better damn well be offensive. It is the milquetoast books (like anything by Grisham) that I usually chuck. No one wants to hear the story about the boy or girl with gumption who overcomes all odds. I, at least, want to hear the story about the boy or girl who descends down a rat hole, never to be seen again.

Not good enough? Do you want a list of books that will probably offend you, but you'll be better off having read?

OK - here goes:

Christopher Hitchens - God is Not Great
Paul Tillich - The Courage to Be
Mikhail Bakunin - Statism and Anarchy
P.J. O'Rourke - Parliament of Whores
Jerry Stahl - I, Fatty
Chuck Palahniuk - Fight Club and Snuff
Camille Paglia - Sexual Personae
Susan Faludi - Backlash and Stiffed
bell hooks - Ain't I a Woman?: Black women and feminism
Tim Wise - White Like Me
Naomi Wolf - The Beauty Myth

This should get you started...

I am convinced that on everyone's deathbed, they will finally realize that they are all lies

Seriously

No matter who you are or what you live for

Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Atheist or Hindu

Existentialist, Apologist, Communist or Nazi

Every single person in this world, when on their death bed, will feel as if everything they lived for was a lie

And, as strange as it may sound, that will be a good thing

Black Sabbath's "Never Say Die" - not a bad album

In fact, it's one of my three fave BS albums

Sabotage, Paranoid and Never Say Die.

This one starts off with a typical late-70's Sabbath song, the title song.

Then it starts going off in other directions. 'Air Dance' apes Jazz, 'Johnny Blade' apes techno, and 'Breakout,' an insturmental number, apes Jazz again, but this time a more Miles/Mingus angry flavor. Bill Ward sings on the next song, 'Swinging the Chain.'

If you want Sabbath exploring, this is your album.
