Come on. You want some fun or excitement in GD? it's a piece of cake. Sing it with me.

Porn, PETA, circumcision,
sports illustrated swimsuit edition
kids on airplanes,
cornflake chicken

population, hipster hats,
superbowl and outside cats

truck nutz hang off ugly cars,
why can I not smoke in bars?
olive garden, peak oil soon,
those NASA fuckers bombed the moon

Is that like Boomersplaining to Millennials?

Anyway, 'splaining is too much strain, since I sprained my 'splainer while training strangers to stain model trains.

I think the last fully defensible military action the US engaged in was probably the Korean War.

Had Afghanistan achieved the implied objective, namely actually capturing or eliminating those directly responsible for 9-11, OBL in particular... had we achieved that objective quickly and with focus and single-minded determination; and (this is important) had we not left that country in the deteriorated condition it is in today, perhaps by taking some of the massive amounts of largesse we wasted in Iraq and instead using it to build schools, water treatment facilities, and infrastructure for the people of that long-abused nation, then I think that a decent case could be made for military action (which many of us, such as myself, supported at the time) in that situation as well.

But that's a pretty fucking slim menu for the past 60+ years of US history. Far more frequent have been misbegotten clusterfucks like Vietnam.

So heaven forfend we- as a nation already running a massive deficit, that certainly the anti-Sanders folks around here seem to believe pays too much in taxes as it is- should elect someone to the White House who is REAL FUCKIN' JUDICIOUS about when and where and what circumstances in which to use military force.

It's easy to say "bah, bomb em all", and it gets the '5 minutes of low information' voters every time. What is hard is actually thinking about these things and the consequences 10, 20 years down the road.

We're still paying off the consequences of the last shitty war, which Hillary voted for.

"Its few to none reciprocating these kinds of attacks on Sanders supporters"

Sure. And given that they're all raving misogynist racist purple shirt wearing mac fanboy brogressives afflicted with white male pathology who barely have time to put gas in their broke-ass Rand Paul Sticker covered volvo klanmobiles before driving their elitist entitled selves to the library to check out atlas shrugged and getting on the public computers there to hate-swarm everything that is pure and decent on social media (and look at porn, probably) after which they commit a series of microaggressions and then head down to the local venezuelan embassy to declare their undying love for Stalin and Hugo Chavez, before finally dining on a feast of cornflake-covered brofurkey....

can you imagine how those *********s would react if they WERE called names?

by the way, your comment?

Right. First off, "manhattan projects" are by definition huge and expensive. Two, "collaboration"

implies a willingness for both parties to work together- The tech industry has been consistent and clear that there is NO mathematical way to create a backdoor or otherwise weaken encryption so that only "good guys" can get in (leaving aside, of course, that every fucking time we are sold a bill of goods about law enforcement needing 'special tools to fight terror' the terror fighting almost immediately goes by the wayside and the special tools are used to go after people like small time drug criminals) so the idea that there is going to be "collaboration" on this- at least, without sticking backdoors in, which is BY DEFINITION breaking encryption- is not just ludicrous, it's flat-out fucking impossible.

And in the meantime, all this authoritarian-appeasing talk about "we must do something about encryption" is damaging the economy, because not just American businesses but our customers overseas have watched these conversations, and they DEPEND on American products and their built in encryption to protect their data against shit like industrial espionage. Fuck, every time you log into your credit card's website, you're using encryption. We WANT encryption to be strong, and we don't want to think that there is a built in weakness waiting for malicious actors to discover and exploit it.

Silicon Valley's resistance to talk from people who clearly don't understand the topic is not just some tech-libertarian philosophical pose, it is a meat and potatoes business decision. Encryption, the math, the concepts, all of it- is out there and it is not going away. Silicon Valley wants to SELL products to the world that the world will reliably believe are genuinely secure and not compromised out of the box.

Fine. He actually spent that time working on his brilliant plan

To spend several decades masquerading as one of the Senate's most dedicated progressives, to pretend to support marriage equality while others were pontificating about sacred bonds between men and women, to pretend to oppose the iraq war while the democratic profiles in not quite actually courage voted for that turd.... All part of his master phony kibbutz scheme to wait, silently waiting, waiting for his chance. Because he knew, he knew...

He knew that in 2016 it would be HILLARY CLINTON'S TURN to be President, see, and mean old (okay, he was still pretty young, then) Bernie Sanders was already afflicted with Clinton Dee-rangement syndrome, why else would anyone ever dare deny the self-evident inevitable obviousness of Hillary deserving Hillary's turn, once Hillary's turn rolled around.

(Hillary's turn was also in 2008.... but that is not important to our narrative, so we will pretend it never happened)

Where was I. Yes, that wily Bernie Sanders, his fake Kibbutz was an evil underground lair, a secret lab under a volcano under the sea, a sea in fact which was under another volcano, that's how secret and wily that bad ol' Bernie Sanders was, starting his decades-long evil, nasty plot to snatch the 2016 nomination away from its rightful owner.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HA!

Boo! Hiss!

Yeah, and then taxpayers are on the hook providing "additional services" to people who work 40+ hrs

A week and are still below poverty level.

So we're subsidising McDonalds, etc. low pay policies and corporate profits. fuck that. If I want to subsidize mcdonalds I will buy one of their shitburgers and do it at the register.

It's not as simple as "provide value" - last time we let the unregulated free market alone determine what labor was worth in a complete regulatory vacuum, 7 year olds were put to work in coal mines and weekends didnt exist.
