My encounter with a Florida Romney-dick-head

We are traveling home from visiting our daughter in Florida when my wife suggest she wants to take some pecans home. The next sign I see is for one of the tourist trap for citrus and pecans. So I pull in and stop, we check the place out, sample some of the pralines and were greeted by the proprietor.

Now this asshole started the conversation by saying he was hoping for a landslide, I said many of us were, but it looks like things are going to be tighter than we would like. He then said Romney was going to be in Daytona day after tomorrow, to which said, I am sorry. He then revealed that he was full Romney, that brought some weird visions to my head. Again I said in a sarcastic tone, I am sorry.

In this process, my wife had picked out some packages of pecans and laid them on the counter. This guy was going full dialog about how Obama isn't doing anything for America. At that point, I said, we vote with our wallet as well as at the poll and said I don't think we can buy the nuts at this location, there are several other traps on up the road.

As we were leaving he said something about wanting to see Obama's handy work, to drive by the hotel across the street and see all the homeless. My response was that Romney wasn't going to do anything for those people because they are part of the 47% that he doesn't care about.

We got the nuts down the road for half the price.

This was at US 1 and I95 in Daytona Florida.

Saw a Romney sign in Dunedin FL with 47% painted over it

This was a 6 foot by 4 foot sign in downtown Dunedin.

Not in favor of defacing or stealing signs, but the message was clear.

Observation on the road - Driving from Ohio to Florida

Spent the last 3 days on the road from Ohio to Clearwater Florida.

Thursday, I drove from Cleveland to Savannah GA. I did not see one Romney sticker on a car until I got to Savannah. The vehicle had 2 stickers, maybe they had to reassure themselves with the second sticker.

It wasn't until I was in Florida that I saw stickers that were negative toward Obama and the few that I saw were radical stuff and they were all offset by the numbers of Obama stickers I have seen in Florida.

One of the cars with the most radical of stickers started to chase me when I passed them on the highway. I have an Obama sticker on back. They were going dow the highway right at or below the speed limit, I zoomed past them at a round 5 over. Went I went by the car, I glanced that way and they looked like they were not voting their best interest.

They chased me from Orlando to just outside Tampa. I was a little afraid to let them catch up with me, I don't usually get concerned when I pass a vehicle and they have to pass me back again. Something here made me think, it was a little more than just passing to pass.

One thing for sure, this election is on everyones menu. While spending a day in Savannah, I walked out of a shop because the shop keeper was blasting Biden's performance the night before with belligerent rhetoric. On the way out, I said, I vote with my wallet.
Out to dinner earlier this evening at a popular tourist trap in Clearwater Beach, I could hear several tables around us discussing the election. Each table had one that was all RR and the rest were not that into either Romney or Ryan.

Joe Biden found a way to be both a participant and the guy in the Barcalounger at home...

Joe Biden found a way to be both a participant and the guy in the Barcalounger at home yelling at the television. He interrupted Paul Ryan, moderator Martha Raddatz, and even himself with interjections, sighs, and quips. He appealed to the heavens, he looked to the floor. With all the activity, he surely shed calories. When he wasn’t engaged in those antics, Biden laughed and smiled to himself as if Ryan had sold him something illegal that he’d just consumed. At times his treatment was so dismissive, he seemed only a few threads of restraint from reaching across the table and patting Ryan on the head.

Biden’s performance was aimed at one thing: painting the Romney and Ryan agenda as a flim-flam operation. He did it with style as much as substance.

My reply to my brothers hate mail

I get home from working a Candidate Forum last night and checked my email. Besides the seemingly hundreds of messages from candidates surrogates asking for money, I saw a few from family and friends. The first one I open in from my brother, it was obviously some chain bullshit he just passed on and since he got it from someone he believed it.

I could tell quickly that it was a hate piece, it started out about this being a christian nation and then went on with pictures and descriptions of people praying on their mats (sorry, not sure what they are called) in the streets of New York. It said they were Muslims and called this activity horrifying and how you couldn't say prayers at this event or that one but these people could do this. It was a very long piece which once I hit the reply, I deleted.

My reply was:
"It's called freedom of religion, not just my religion. You can pray in the street too if you really want to, there is nothing stopping you, but you might want to start by going to church first."

He has not been inside a church for 20+ years except for my mothers funeral. Oh and I replied to all, that really pisses him off.

Congressman calls evolution lie from ‘pit of hell’

ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia Rep. Paul Broun said in videotaped remarks that evolution, embryology and the Big Bang theory are "lies straight from the pit of hell" meant to convince people that they do not need a savior.

The Republican lawmaker made those comments during a speech Sept. 27 at a sportsman’s banquet at Liberty Baptist Church in Hartwell. Broun, a medical doctor, is running for re-election in November unopposed by Democrats

OK, my first question: Why is this moron running unopposed?
