NEW YORK/PALM BEACH, Florida, April 3 (Reuters) - A plane carrying former U.S. President Donald Trump took off from a Florida airport bound for New York City on Monday as he prepared to face charges stemming from an investigation into hush money paid to a porn star before the 2016 election.

South Carolina GOP lawmakers propose death penalty for women who have abortions

Republican lawmakers in South Carolina are considering a change to the state’s criminal code that would make a person who gets an abortion eligible for the death penalty.

The bill being considered in South Carolina, dubbed the South Carolina Prenatal Equal Protection Act of 2023, would redefine “person” under state law to include a fertilized egg, giving it at the point of conception equal protection under the state’s homicide laws, including the death penalty.

How Jimmy Carter Sparked the Craft Beer Revolution

How Jimmy Carter Sparked the Craft Beer Revolution

All of this buzz about Obama's beer had me and a few coworkers thinking; while we're down with Obama and his sweet honey homebrew, he's merely a participant in an age-old tradition of making beer in the comfort of one's own home. In fact, he doesn't even do it himself. He has the White House kitchen staff doing the bulk of the brewing.

Our 39th President, Mr. James Carter, is the true homebrew hero; he and a lesser known man by the name of Alan Cranston, a veteran democratic senator from California. How so, you ask? Well, on October 14, 1978, Jimmy Carter signed the bill H.R. 1337, which contained an amendment sponsored by Alan Cranston. That amendment created an exemption from taxation of beer brewed at home for personal or family use. Essentially, it lifted regulations imposed by Prohibition laws over 50 years previous.

Major insurers plan to drop two car models' coverage

At least two major automotive insurers are refusing to protect certain Kia and Hyundai models because they lack anti-theft common in today’s cars, according to reports.
Both State Farm and Progressive confirmed with CNN that they no longer write policies for some Kia and Hyundai models manufactured between 2015-2019.

George Santos appears to have claimed he acted in 'Hannah Montana' and with Uma Thurman in a movie she wasn't actually in

Wikipedia page featuring the user's bio, which was first reported Friday by Politico, has since been taken down but was still accessible in internet archives. The bio, which appears to have last been edited on April 29, 2011, is riddled with typos and misspellings. It also includes details that align with Santos, including saying the user was born on July 22, 1988, to a Brazilian family with a European background.

It continues to say that "Anthony Devolder first startted his 'stage' life at age 17 as an gay night club DRAG QUEEN and with that won sevral GAY 'BEAUTY PAGENTS'!"

Santos, who is openly gay, this week denied ever performing in drag after several people told media outlets, including Insider, that they used to know him as a drag performer in Brazil.

The Wiki bio said Devolder "took his step into the begining of his carrer in witch he started in a few T.V shows and DISNEY Channel shows," including "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and "Hannah Montana." It also said "he taped his very first movie in 2009," which was called "THE INVASION" and starred "Uma Turman," apparently a misspelling of Uma Thurman.

It's unclear what movie the bio was referring to. A movie called "The Invasion" came out in 2007, but it starred Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig — not the "Pulp Fiction" actress. No "Anthony Devolder" — or George Santos — was listed in the cast on IMDb.

Wyoming GOP Considers Declaring War on Electric Vehicles to Protect Fossil Fuels

Republicans in Wyoming’s state senate are considering a resolution banning new electric vehicle sales in the state by 2035, an answer to California and New York states’ recent laws that would bar the sale of gas-powered vehicles in those states by the same year.

“The Legislature would be saying, ‘If you don’t like our petroleum cars, well, we don’t like your electric cars,’” said the resolution’s sponsor, Republican State Sen. Jim Anderson, Cowboy State Daily reported.

The Wyoming resolution, “Phasing Out New Electric Vehicle Sales By 2035,” is largely a symbolic gesture, as it would not be legally binding if passed. But Wyoming Republicans still think it’s important enough to consider passing, even if only to troll Democratic states that favor electric vehicles.
