So I recently changed jobs, now a former coworker is stalking me

At 64 I changed jobs, in part, because the place I was working had become a toxic situation.
So I started looking and found a better paying job, a new adventure and a better environment.

Funny thing happened, the very person who was the biggest pain in the a$$ and big part of why I moved on now checks my LinkedIn profile every 3 hours.

I posted my change on there, don’t know what he is looking for. Must be separation anxiety.

I don’t know if I should appreciate the attention or fear for my life. When I left, I took a huge bank of knowledge with me, something the company took for granted until I turned in my notice.

Judge recuses himself from Disney suit against DeSantis and accuses governor of 'rank judge-shopping

Judge recuses himself from Disney suit against DeSantis and accuses governor of 'rank judge-shopping'

A federal judge in Florida overseeing Walt Disney Co.'s lawsuit against GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis recused himself Thursday, saying he has a relative who owns Disney stock and could be affected by the case's outcome.

In a filing in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, Judge Mark E. Walker, who was nominated by President Barack Obama, responded to a motion by DeSantis' legal team requesting he remove himself from the case.

"Defendants seek to disqualify me from presiding over this case because, in their view, questions I have asked in previous, related cases raise substantial doubts about my impartiality," Walker wrote.

Walker, however, said the DeSantis team's motion was "based on a misapprehension of the law and a misstatement of the facts." The judge said the motion cited cases "for their convenient language without acknowledging the chasm between my statements in this case and the conduct at issue in those cases."

Super excited tonight, I received an oral job offer this evening

Long story short, I have spent 5 years for a company that has over time grown more and more toxic.

When I took the job, I thought it would take me into retirement. It became so toxic, that I had to do something.
Once I started looking, I started getting calls from recruiters and one turned into an interview.
I nailed the interview. I knew I nailed it when I left that day.

Between that day and the offer I recieved, i was called into the office and berated in front of a coworker because somehow it was my fault the coworker didn't share information I needed to do my job. I sat there tight lipped and all I could think about was about the interview. Even today the manager showed little respect.

Now I get to turn in my notice. I can hardly contain myself. I have gone 5 years with no performance review or a raise.

Now I just have to fight the urge to give them a tube of KY with my resignation, because when I leave, they will be left with one engineer who has neither the experience or knowledge of the business. I will probably not, but it makes me feel good thinking about it.

Michigan school district bans backpacks: "We will not take any chances"

We are going to ban everything but the very thing that is used to kill.

A Michigan school district implemented a backpack ban starting Monday over safety concerns.

The policy will be in place through the end of the school year, Flint Community Schools Superintendent Kevelin Jones said in a letter to parents. Students who bring backpacks to school will be sent to the office, where they'll need to call a parent or guardian to come pick up the bag.

"Across the country, we have seen an increase in threatening behavior and contraband, including weapons, being brought into schools at all levels," Jones wrote. "Backpacks make it easier for students to hide weapons, which can be disassembled and harder to identify or hidden in pockets, inside books or under other items."

Students will be allowed to bring small purses with personal items, clear plastic bags with clothes and lunchboxes, Jones said. The bags will be subject to search.

In the past, some school districts across the country have required students to use clear backpacks. Jones said clear backpacks don't completely fix security issues. In a guide for parents, the district wrote weapons can "still easily be hidden in clear backpacks."

A little story about my last weekend at the RBC Heritage tournament

Heads up! Heritage volunteer struck by golf ball, visiting doctor happens to be nearby

Spectators regularly joke about it, but few actually expect to get hit by a stray ball while enjoying the action. That’s what happened Sunday at the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing tournament. Unfortunately for one unidentified Heritage volunteer, he suffered the most unlikely of injuries during Sunday’s final round. Golfers Correy Conners, Lee Hodges and Sahith Theegala were playing the Harbour Town Golf Links’ 9th hole around 2:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t clear which golfer was responsible, but one of the pros’ drives accidentally struck a tournament volunteer in the back of the head and sent him to the ground, bleeding from a from a small abrasion.

The volunteer walked off under his own power within minutes to receive treatment and waved to the stands at the 9th green. Play was not delayed, and fans applauded the man as he walked off. “He was in good spirits,” Whitler told The Island Packet. “We said, ‘Well, you might be able to get a signed ball.’”

I am the volunteer. You know how the crowd cheers when football player gets up again. I got those kind of cheers.
Also got a signed ball and the ball that hit me.
