Avon hotel clerk's 911 call about ISIS causes intense police response, patron's collapse
AVON, Ohio - A 911 call alleging that a hotel patron pledged his allegiance to ISIS caused panic at an Avon hotel earlier this week.
On Wednesday just before 6 p.m., the Avon Police Department received a 911 call from the sister of a woman working as a clerk at the Fairfield Inn and Suites on Colorado Avenue.
The caller said her sister told her there was a man in the hotel lobby "in full head dress with multiple disposable phones pledging his allegiance to ISIS."
According to police, she repeated that there was a "suspicious mal at the front desk with disposable phones, two of them, in a full head dress."
While on the phone with the sister, police received a second call from the clerk's father also requesting that officers be sent to the hotel.
Officers arrived minutes later to find an Arabic-speaking man standing outside the front doors of the hotel. He was dressed in a 'thobe' and had a cell phone in his hand.
Officers, with guns drawn, ordered the man to get on the ground and drop the phone. At first he didn't respond but police say he eventually complied and laid down.
Officers placed the man in handcuffs and conducted a search. No weapons were found on his body.
Police spoke to the clerk and found out that the man did not, in fact, make any statements related to ISIS. Officers said at that time it was clear there was a miscommunication.

Michael Symon Won't Let Donald Trump Into His Restaurants During RNC
If presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump plans on eating local when hes in Cleveland for the Republican National Convention, he should steer clear of any of Michael Symons eateries.
Theres not a chance Id let him into one of my restaurants, the celebrity chef said with laughter during a phone interview with 92.3 The Fan Thursday morning.
Originally calling in to defend the communal seating at Mabels, his new BBQ restaurant on East 4th Street, Symon shared how he really felt about the businessman-turned-politician when the topic turned to potential parties during the RNC.
I come from a mixed political family, which is always fun around this time of the world," he said. "Ive been fortunate - or unfortunate - enough to meet him through the years. And Im not gonna lie, he creeps me out a little bit.
When asked by 92.3 The Fans Matt Dery about whether or not hes concerned that his anti-Trump comments could turn off potential patrons, he doubled down on his comments.
Anybody that knows me knows that Im not afraid to speak my mind. This isnt a Democratic/Republican thing, trust me. Its just a he creeps me out thing.

Picture Donald Trump in a crisis
That is the question everyone should ask those they know that support Trump or at least those who say they don't "trust" Hillary.
After Brexit Vote, Britain Asks Google: 'What Is The EU?'

If the Victory Celebration for the Cavaliers is any indication, the RNC will be a mess
Transportation wise, was a mess today for the NBA Championship rally in Downtown Cleveland. Getting in to town took many hours as the buses and train were filled to capacity leaving people waiting at bus stops and metro stations. One metro station was said to have a line stretching for more than a mile. Parking was prohibited in most places and then the same problems were reported after the rally.
The RTA responded citing lack of funding to support such large crowds.
I am thinking that with the security zone, parking will be just as difficult and most of the attendees will need to use the transit system.
