So sweet! 💕 Did you know that...

The dugong is the only strictly herbivorous marine mammal, the closest surviving relative of the manatees, and...
"Hyraxes, elephants and dugongs evolved from a single common ancestor."

No wonder they are so sweet, they're related to elephants! 😊

(Here i go again, throwing in that "evilution" stuff.)

Aww! We "really shouldn't eat octopus."

Do you care about animals? Then you really shouldn’t eat octopus"
They may be delicious and sure, there are lots of them, but next time you’re chomping down on your barbecued octopus, just remember they were the first intelligent beings on Earth and have more genes than you do.
Go ahead, order the calamari. I’ll sit back and scowl silently, and think about Ozymandias.

Here's my favorite octopus story - he's brilliant:

Otto the octopus wrecks havoc

Who, with knowledge of this, ...

Has not cried themselves to sleep when realizing and accepting what's coming. It's a process of dealing, of making peace with the situation.

As with religion and political truths, most folks are just ostriches who'll kick like hell if you attempt to pull their heads out of the sand. "Fuck those people" is a good way to put it.

True.

I think my winger brother is a victim of this, at least he keeps his compassion for all animals.
It's so sad, this desperate need to belong to a group, to fit into a stereotype, especially for "some parts" of the country.

50% of my neighbors..

...are retired military and I'm very temped to send this to one of the very friendly ones.

He knows I'm one of those very liberal dems already yet I don't push the issue as much as I'd like. 2 yrs ago he blew me off when I told him tRump was elected with Russian help.

Seeing THE PENTAGON saying this would rattle this repub's tree. Hubby tells me rubbing it in is not a good idea---I just don't want him voting for Shittler again.

How is it that the MAGA hats

Aren't objecting in the least?
Oh, that's right--they're puppets, only jumping when told to.

Squirrels, at least some, are amazingly smart.

Except when crossing in front of cars but we can't judge all of them by those unfortunate accidents.

When I've time, I'll tell my pet wild squirrel story - he was the proverbial "something else."

Zactly.

It's a "let's slam Joe" post.

Again: Back in the early 70s, the men controlling these House committees were segregationists and the then 27yo Biden knew he had to compromise with these a.holes in order to get anywhere.

Stop these circular firing squads. They're benefiting Trump. What we need to decide is who is the best candidate to beat IQ45. Period.

Bingo: "ONE goal... ousting Trump..."

"ONE goal, which is ousting Trump from his wannabe dictatorship."

Exactly. And has Harris knocked out our best chance (not saying best candidate)? She advanced herself at what cost?

Posted and wrote to a friend earlier:

Life is full of regretful compromises.

Edited to include a great MM post I just found:
