I'd like to see all those responsible for this cruelty

Locked in small cages and tortured.

And I'd like to be in that courtroom with a bucket of doggie turds to throw at them all, including Elizabeth Goldentyer & Robert Gibbens for not doing their job.

That's a church for approximately ...

Every 300 people, assuming everyone there goes to church.

But I knew a fair number of atheists there. A close friend founded a large atheist group called ASK - Atheist Society of Knoxville.

My hubby & I were planning to move back but reconsidered given the religiosity of the area. They even pray at HOA meetings!!

Science gets the job done; religion makes excuses. - PZ Myers

What has occurred over the course of the last few centuries is a growing (but by no means universal or certain) recognition that science gets the job done, while religion makes excuses.
Sometimes they are very pretty excuses that capture the imagination of the public, but ultimately, when you want to win a war or heal a dying child or get rich from a discovery or explore Antarctica [or space], you turn to science and reason, or you fail.

Allergic to kitties? A suggestion....

After losing our last dog to cancer and age (he was a 13yo Lab), I desperately needed another furkid in the house. However, because of our age, we were turned down by rescue group after rescue group when we tried to adopt another dog. Luckily I found a private rescue lady who specialized in kitty adoptions. The problem there was that my hubby is very allergic to kitties. He does loves them however.

My friend, dear DUer Bayard came to "our rescue" with a great suggestion: feed the kitty a non-allergenic food. I had never heard or considered that but knew that she's truly an expert on "all things critters,"* and so we trusted her advice and got a kitty. It has worked out well. We've had our feisty little girl for 2yrs now without causing my hubby any major allergy attack.

This is what has REALLY helped to mitigate his allergic reaction:

I'm really not being paid to endorse this but thought I'd pass along the advice for any of you kitty-loving folks suffering with allergies. It doesn't stop an allergic reaction entirely but it sure has helped my hubby.

The only drawback is that it's a bit expensive.

Thanks again to my dear smart friend (& former vet tech & animal expert) Bayard.

This clip is a teaching tutorial on how to handle gun nuts -- open-carry/we don't have to register/no rules gun nuts.

I know a physicist who been writing a paper about this.

He sent a draft out and continues to polish the paper.

(I'm married to that guy. )

Closing these markets would stop the "trade."

Teeth and skins were the most traded parts, and were commonly destined for China and other Asian countries.

China is the biggest culprit in the ivory trade too. Some countries have no respect for the lives of animals.

I cringe whenever I've picked up orders from the local Chinese restaurant and see the Ivory displayed in their cases.

From the article:
"Little or no response from law enforcement."

Why? The usual reason? They're being paid off too?

Thanks for posting this, Judi.

Amazing!

Thanks for posting this!

Excellent pic; what timing! - it's a keeper.

Regarding the black bear, there are plenty of those in Yosemite Park; one kept us awake one night going thru the trash bins right outside our cabin there. 😁

NUTS!!! Do the math. Please.

41,000 HOURS????

NOT POSSIBLE. There's only 168hrs in a week. We're talking about over 244 weeks -- that's almost 5yrs of tape.

Where are the journalists on this??
