"You vill deliver ze party line!"

KNUS radio host Craig Silverman taken off the air midshow for criticizing Trump

https://www.denverpost.com/2019/11/16/craig-silverman-radio-show-donald-trump/

Craig Silverman, a former deputy district attorney in Denver and current radio host on the conservative 710 KNUS, was taken off the air midshow Saturday after replaying an old interview clip in which he expressed hesitations about President Donald Trump.

Silverman told The Denver Post in a text message that the show was cut by management as he replayed parts of a 2015 interview he conducted with Trump confidant Roger Stone. On Friday, Stone was convicted of impeding investigators in a bid to protect the president.

In the clip, Silverman told Stone that one thing that concerned him about Trump was his relationship with Roy Cohn, the president’s former personal lawyer who helped Sen. Joe McCarthy during the investigation into suspected Communists in the 1950s.

Silverman responded to state representative Dylan Roberts, an Eagle Democrat, on Twitter, saying “I cannot and will not toe strict Trump party line. I call things I see them.”

FYI - handy timeline to refute RWNJ/MAGAt claims re: Biden/Burisma

Timeline: Trump, Giuliani, Biden, and Ukrainegate (updated)

https://www.justsecurity.org/66271/timeline-trump-giuliani-bidens-and-ukrainegate/

Some key passages

President Trump and Rudy Giuliani have cited that boast repeatedly as proof that Biden admitted pushing for Shokin’s firing, even though Biden was calling for the prosecutor to be fired because he wasn’t pursuing corruption cases vigorously enough.

...

Vitaliy Kasko, a former deputy prosecutor general who had worked under Shokin and resigned in frustration at his stymying of corruption investigations, told Bloomberg News (in a May 2019 interview) that the office’s probe into Burisma Holdings had been long dormant by the time Joe Biden issued his ultimatum in 2016. “There was no pressure from anyone from the U.S. to close cases against” Burisma owner Zlochevskiy, Bloomberg quoted Kasko as saying. “It was shelved by Ukrainian prosecutors in 2014 and through 2015,” Kasko said.

“Shokin was not investigating. He didn’t want to investigate Burisma,” Daria Kaleniuk a leading Ukrainian anti-corruption advocate, told the Washington Post. “And Shokin was fired not because he wanted to do that investigation, but quite to the contrary, because he failed that investigation.”

Federal judge declares Florida ballots unconstitutional, orders change

Source: Washington Post

A federal judge in Florida ordered the state Friday to change the way candidates are listed on election ballots — a decision that Democrats in the crucial swing state say will finally take away an unfair advantage Republicans have enjoyed for years.

...

The current law says that whichever party holds the governor’s office can list its candidates first on the ballot in general elections. That hurts an opposing party, U.S. District Court Judge Mark E. Walker said.

He gave Florida Secretary of State Laurel Lee two weeks to tell elections supervisors in all 67 counties that the current “ballot scheme” is unconstitutional. She has three weeks to come up with a new plan.

Walker heard testimony from researchers who said the “primacy effect” is real and can give a candidate a statistical advantage as great as 5.4 percentage points. Many voters tend to vote for the first name on the list of candidates, they said.

'Witness intimidation in real-time' - Repukes embarrass themselves when questioned about it

https://www.politico.com/amp/news/2019/11/15/trump-impeachment-witness-intimidation-071129

Asked if it amounted to witness intimidation, Conaway did not offer a direct answer: “I’m not a lawyer, I’m not familiar with it, but it’s just not something I would do. It’s just not my style.”

Several Republicans on the Intelligence Committee dodged the topic entirely. Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio) refused to answer questions about the tweets as he ducked on to the House floor, while Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) quickly whipped out his cell phone and began talking into it, even though his home screen was visible and there was no call in progress.

The most disturbing part of the hearing was when Rep. Jordan started snapping the witnesses with a wet wound up towel.

For the first time ever, a US cheese is named best in the world

For the first time ever, a US cheese is named best in the world
https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/world-champion-cheese-2019-rogue-river-blue-trnd/index.html

Rogue River Blue has taken the top prize at the 2019 World Cheese Awards, marking the first time a US cheese has ever been named World Champion Cheese.

An organic blue cheese produced by Rogue Creamery of Central Point, Oregon, Rogue River Blue beat a record-breaking 3,804 entries from 42 countries at the awards, held this year in Bergamo, Italy, in mid-October.

...

"Rogue River Blue has triumphed in US competitions, too. What I admire about it, beyond the taste, is the effort the creamery has taken to showcase other local ingredients like wine grapes and pears. It's an effort to really give this cheese a 'taste of place.'"

Rogue Creamery makes its champion cheese in the fall, from organic cow's milk from the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon. The cheese wheels spend 9 to 11 months in the creamery's cheese caves, and then are hand wrapped in organic Syrah grape leaves soaked in pear liqueur.
