Rick Wilson: "MAN, the energy Trump's agitprop machine is putting into 'China Virus' is astounding"

MAN, the energy Trump's agitprop machine is putting into "China Virus" is astounding. This is a Bannon/Miller joint, folks.

Stop taking the bait, and get back on Trump's incompetence and malfeasance.

Play smart.

Republicans and some independents seem to have gotten inured to Trump's NON-STOP LYING

Unless my memory is really faulty, didn't we used to expect our President to be honest ?
Or at least honest 99% of the time ?

The Republicans still in his cult seem to have embraced his non-stop lying totally.
We Democrats have rejected it.
Independents ? I don't know, but I'm guessing some percentage of them have embraced it.

If Obama had flat-out lied a tiny fraction of the amount that Trump lies, they would have
gone after impeachment with a vengeance.

I'll be so freaking relieved when we get a President who doesn't lie as easily as he or she breathes.

end of rant

Does Trump have early dementia or not ?

Simple question, regardless if you're a doctor or not. Yes, no, or I have no clue.

A couple left a $9,400 tip at a Houston restaurant to help staff get through coronavirus shutdown

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/17/us/houston-restaurant-coronavirus-tip-trnd/index.html

(CNN) The staff at a popular Houston restaurant got a $9,400 tip from some regular customers who wanted to help them get by during the coronavirus shutdown.

The couple came for an early dinner at Irma's Southwest restaurant on Monday, after learning that all restaurants in the county would have to close their dining rooms and only offer takeout and delivery service, restaurant owner Louis Galvan told CNN.

"We didn't expect it, to be honest with you," Galvan said. "They left a gratuity for the entire kitchen and service staff, which is unexpected."

They left $1,900 in cash and put another $7,500 tip on a credit card, Galvan said. He said the couple wanted to be anonymous.

The bill for their meal was $90.12.

The husband left a note on the receipt that said "hold tip to pay your guys over the next few weeks."

A coronavirus cautionary tale from Italy: Don't do what we did

https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/03/13/opinion/coronavirus-cautionary-tale-italy-dont-do-what-we-did/

Many of us were too selfish to follow suggestions to change our behavior. Now we’re in lockdown and people are needlessly dying.

ROME – “As in any war, we have to choose who to treat and who not.”

That was a headline on March 9 in Il Corriere della Sera, a leading newspaper in Italy, that informed us that hospitals in Italy’s north, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in our country, were being stretched thin and the health care system was on the brink of collapse.

An anesthesiologist at a hospital in Bergamo, one of the cities with the most cases of Covid-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus, told the paper that the intensive care unit was already at capacity, and doctors were being forced to start making difficult triage decisions, admitting people who desperately need mechanical ventilation based on age, life expectancy, and other factors. Just like in wartime. The article was inexplicably placed on page 15, while the main headline on the newspaper’s front page relayed the political quarrels over the measures to curb the contagion.

White House Privately Backchannels Its Coronavirus Messaging to Conservative Social-Media Influencers

https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-white-house-privately-backchannels-its-coronavirus-messaging-to-conservative-social-media-influencers

As the coronavirus has worsened, members of the task force President Donald Trump has assigned to combat the pandemic have reached out to prominent conservative social media “influencers” and right-wing TV and radio stars to offer them private briefings and information sessions with Vice President Mike Pence and other top administration officials, The Daily Beast has learned.

The communications strategy began backstage at the Conservative Political Action Conference, the annual gathering that takes place just outside of Washington, D.C., and which happened to have an attendee diagnosed with coronavirus this year. The direct outreach occurred on Thursday, Feb. 27—the day after Trump tapped Pence to lead the task force. There, the vice president hosted an informal briefing on COVID-19 and the administration’s latest efforts, with several right-leaning personalities with large followings on Twitter and other social media platforms, according to a source with direct knowledge of the gathering.

The following Wednesday, Pence hosted another closed-door meeting with conservative “influencers,” with this one lasting for roughly an hour in the vice president’s office on White House grounds. The meeting was helmed by senior Trump administration officials such as Pence and Marc Short, the vice president’s chief of staff who previously served as Trump’s legislative affairs director.

According to three people with knowledge of the meeting, attendees included Fox New fixture and prolific MAGA tweeter Dan Bongino; former Trump adviser and current “War Room: 2020” podcast host Jason Miller; Newsmax TV host and Trump’s former press secretary Sean Spicer; former White House official and Sinclair “must-run” commentator Boris Epshteyn; Sinclair anchor and ex-Fox News host Eric Bolling; and former Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA), a Trump surrogate.
