I got this tablet today for giggles and to use while on the road....

I'll give you the hands-on review after I've used it for a while. The dead tree version of Maximum PC magazine gave it a good rating overall (an 8 out of 10, they very very rarely give out a 10). Using my cell phone for the web SUCKS. Postage stamp sized screen, ugh. I could have gotten an IPhone but I don't care about all the IPhone stuff.

Wish me luck, amigos y amigas.

Reasonable rate of return on non-taxable investments ?

Advisor keeps throwing out 2.5% figure. Too high, too low, just about right, other ? My layman's guess is that tax-exempt is usually lower than taxable, true ? Needless to say, I am not part of the 1% or even remotely near being wealthy. Just curious as always.

Thanks for your time and thanks again, A Heretic I Am.

World of Warcraft film post-production will take about 20 months to 'get right'

http://www.polygon.com/2014/5/6/5688758/world-of-warcraft-film-post-production-20-months

The movie adaptation of Blizzard's massively multiplayer online game World of Warcraft, Warcraft, will wrap up later this month, but the movie will take an additional 20 months of post-production in order to "get this right," Legendary Films CEO Thomas Tull recently told CraveOnline.

Warcraft is currently in production as part of a partnership between Universal Pictures and Legendary Pictures; the movie is being directed by Duncan Jones, who also directed sci-fi film Moon. According to Tull, the far-off release is part of getting the movie itself and its launch date "right."

"As you may have noticed, these next two years, there's pretty big titles coming out," Tull said. "We wanted to make sure that we got that right, but there are some sequences and some things that Duncan Jones has done that are truly on the cutting edge. You want to have plenty of time to make sure that we dial those in. So by the time they get home and set up, it'll be a little less than two years. It'll be about 20 months but we really want to take our time and get this right because the technology that's employed really is some next generation stuff."

Tull added that though the movie will feature a linear story, it's still a Duncan Jones film and has "that different flare, not just straightforward fantasy."

I hope they get it right !

Poll: Prestigious Colleges Won't Make You Happier In Life Or Work

http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2014/05/06/308382912/poll-prestigious-colleges-wont-make-you-happier-in-life-or-work

There's plenty of anxiety in the U.S. over getting into a top college. But a suggests that, later in life, it doesn't matter nearly as much as we think. In fact, when you ask college graduates whether they're "engaged" with their work or "thriving" in all aspects of their lives, their responses don't vary one bit whether they went to a prestigious college or not.

The surprising findings come in a survey of 29,650 college graduates of all ages by Gallup pollsters working with researchers at Purdue University. The poll asked graduates a range of questions designed to measure how well they are doing in life across factors such as income and "engagement" in their jobs and careers.

The survey set a high bar. It found that 39 percent of college grads overall say they're "engaged" at work (which is ). And, while almost 5 in 6 self-report doing great in at least one sphere — whether sense of purpose, financial security, physical health, close relationships or community pride — only 11 percent are "thriving" in all five areas of well-being.

And here's the kicker.

Men: Do you color your hair ?

Color = to another color or to hide gray, etc.

Personally, I do not (as he looks at his gradually graying follicles), but I have thought about it.

Simply curious. Ladies, if you want to chime in, feel free.

article about Net Neutrality, please read and critique, thanks !

WTF is NET NEUTRALITY, anyway? And how can we make everything better?

I don't know enough about networking to properly evaluate this. He seems to be saying that the net neutrality advocates are mistaken about the facts. Thanks for your time.

care to expound on the current funding model versus the old campaigns ?

I always enjoyed Grovelbot and the banners, etc. Obviously you know what works. Maybe a hybrid funding model of this AND Grovelbot ? I'm sure we all don't want you and your family, EarlG and Elad eating rice and beans ALL the time.
