Barrasso of WY lying his ass off about approving SCOTUS justices....
He claims all these arcane technicalities, Biden rule, yada yada yada about the Republicans confirming a nominee ASAP. To his credit, Chuck Todd on MTP (recorded earlier) did confront him fairly well, but Barrasso stuck to his corrupt guns.
Disgusting. Just be honest and say, yea we're doing it and you can't stop us. Stop with the pseudo-legal justifications.
Senator Duckworth: No, We Weren't 'Suckers' or 'Losers'
https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/09/trumps-disrespect-endangers-troops/616409/In the Army, part of our soldiers creed involves never leaving a fallen comrade behind. The only reason I am alive today is that, after a rocket-propelled grenade exploded in the Black Hawk helicopter I was co-piloting, my buddies embodied that creed. They thought I was dead but still risked their own safety to bring my body back home to my family. Only when they got me to a rescue aircraft did they realize that I was still breathing. Then they ignored their own injuries, refusing care until the medic tended to me first.
My crewmates were heroes that afternoon. Yet apparently, in Trumps eyes, each of us in that aircraft must have been a loser because our helicopter got shot down by the enemy. Had we been killed, he very well might call us suckers, too. After all, those are the terms that, according to The Atlantics reporting, the commander in chief has used to describe members of the armed forces who have been killed, captured, or shot down in battle. He also told his staff that nobody wants to see wounded warriors like me who lost limbs fighting to keep other Americans safe.
Trump might not like seeing visible proof of my injuries, but I couldnt care less. To me, the wounds and wheelchairs of those who have worn our nations uniform should be considered badges of honor. Im able to serve in the Senate today because the ethos of the United States military is the exact opposite of the craven, me-first mentality that he has shown every hour of every day of his gold-plated, privileged life.
Anyone know what the "Bras d'honneur" is ?
If you do, you get mega-points. I had no idea until I googled "italian gesture fuck you"

When you see The Dime Store Mussolini on TV, do you....
just curious about your reaction
The Dime Store Mussolini = what Steve Schmidt of The Lincoln Project calls Trump
eta: I know there is more than one option at a time, so feel free to type in another reaction.
"Deuce" versus "douche": Blinded by the Light by Bruce Springsteen, then Manfred Mann
Am I the only one who heard "douche" for years ?
Trump cultists try to block entrance to early voting site in Fairfax, Virginia

Of course, they are only "protesting" However, my understanding is that partisan political activity has to be kept so many yards away from polling places. Any VA people or lawyers know the rule ?

County election officials eventually were forced to open up a larger portion of the Fairfax County Government Center to allow voters to wait inside away from the Trump enthusiasts.
Election officials said that the group stayed about 100 feet from the entrance to the building and, contrary to posts on social media, were not directly blocking access to the building. But they acknowledged that some voters and polling staff members felt intimidated by what some saw as protesters.
Citizens coming into and leaving the building did have to go by them, Gary Scott, the general registrar of Fairfax County, said in a statement. Those voters who were in line outside of the building were moved inside and we continued operations. Some voters, and elections staff, did feel intimidated by the crowd and we did provide escorts past the group. One of the escorts was the county executive.
FYI for my fellow Floridians: Bars and restaurants are STILL limited to 50 percent capacity
That is, if you dare to go out. I will not, personally.
If you venture out and see non-compliance, you can report the restaurant or bar. They will get a citation, at least (if the cops do their job, that is). Repeated violations can force them to shut down.

For a while, all bars were shut down. As of 9-14-2020, they are back open but only up to 50%.
Rick Wilson of The Lincoln Project has heard from his sources that Trump is cancelling TV ads in FL
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-new-abnormal-with-molly-jong-fast-rick-wilson/id1508202790"This rumor that is banging around right now, is that they are about to go off the air in Florida", at the 16:27 mark.
OMG if this is true, it is WONDERFUL ! Bloomberg can murder them with his TV ads.
That link goes to the "The New Abnormal" podcast on The Daily Beast, with Molly Jong-Fast & Rick Wilson, the September 18th podcast.
