Is Epstein an intelligence asset? If so, for which country?

Note: I did NOT say a US intelligence asset.

https://twitter.com/KYWildWoman/status/1149059047511011330

Epstein’s name, I was told, had been raised by the Trump transition team when Alexander Acosta, the former U.S. attorney in Miami who’d infamously cut Epstein a non-prosecution plea deal back in 2007, was being interviewed for the job of labor secretary. The plea deal put a hard stop to a separate federal investigation of alleged sex crimes with minors and trafficking.

“Is the Epstein case going to cause a problem [for confirmation hearings]?” Acosta had been asked. Acosta had explained, breezily, apparently, that back in the day he’d had just one meeting on the Epstein case. He’d cut the non-prosecution deal with one of Epstein’s attorneys because he had “been told” to back off, that Epstein was above his pay grade. “I was told Epstein ‘belonged to intelligence’ and to leave it alone,” he told his interviewers in the Trump transition, who evidently thought that was a sufficient answer and went ahead and hired Acosta. (The Labor Department had no comment when asked about this.)

... snip

For almost two decades, for some nebulous reason, whether to do with ties to foreign intelligence, his billions of dollars, or his social connections, Epstein, whose alleged sexual sickness and horrific assaults on women without means or ability to protect themselves is well-known in his circle, remained untouchable.

I'd sure like to know who told Acosta Epstein is an intelligence asset.

An AP reporter asked Acosta if knew whether Epstein was “an intelligence asset.”
He follows with an grand non-denial-denial.

This saga we're living thru is about the MOB. Always has been.

Lincoln's Bible researches and educates about the mob. It has been an interesting 3 years or so.

And here’s a lovely thread on Jeffrey Epstein, the Maxwells (Robert & Ghislaine), Mogilevich, & some very scary Russian mobsters who ran their biz out of Trump Tower & El Caribe (Michael Cohen’s family joint). Because this saga we’re living thru is about the MOB. Always has been.

This thread is educational and a classic. I'll just add the last post.

Epstein is connected to the head of the Russian mob, but I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

4/ I’m not being cute, mentioning the Russian mob. Epstein’s longtime girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, is the daughter of Robert Maxwell, the publishing magnate who was business partners with Semion Mogilevich. Yes, THAT Mogilevich, the capo di tutti capi of the Russian mob.

Britain's man in the the US says Trump is 'inept': Leaked secret cables from ambassador say the President is 'uniquely dysfunctional and his career could end in disgrace'

*EXCLUSIVE: Sir Kim Darroch used secret cables to impugn Trump's character
*Top diplomat warned London President Trump's career could end in 'disgrace'
*Bombshell comments risk angering the notoriously thin-skinned US President
*He describes bitter conflicts in White House as 'knife fights', sources confirmed
*And claims President's economic policies could wreck the world trade system
*Says Presidency could 'crash and burn', 'we could be at start of downward spiral'

Britain's Ambassador to Washington has described Donald Trump as 'inept', 'insecure' and 'incompetent' in a series of explosive memos to Downing Street.

Sir Kim Darroch, one of Britain's top diplomats, used secret cables and briefing notes to impugn Trump's character, warning London that the White House was 'uniquely dysfunctional' and that the President's career could end in 'disgrace'.

His bombshell comments risk angering the notoriously thin-skinned President and undermining the UK's 'special relationship' with America.

In the memos, seen by The Mail on Sunday following an unprecedented leak, Sir Kim:

*Describes bitter conflicts within Trump's White House – verified by his own sources – as 'knife fights';
*Warns that Trump could have been indebted to 'dodgy Russians';
*Claims the President's economic policies could wreck the world trade system;
*Says the scandal-hit Presidency could 'crash and burn' and that 'we could be at the beginning of a downward spiral... that leads to disgrace and downfall';
*Voices fears that Trump could still attack Iran.

In one of the most sensitive documents, Sir Kim writes: 'We don't really believe this Administration is going to become substantially more normal; less dysfunctional; less unpredictable; less faction riven; less diplomatically clumsy and inept.'

BREAKING: Accusations of extortion, secret tape recordings, and sex trafficking — the Jeffrey Epstein case unleashes a bitter war between the country’s two most prominent legal Goliaths

Dershowitz v. Boies: Jeffrey Epstein case unleashes war between two legal Goliaths

It’s a high-stakes war between two of the country’s most powerful lawyers. Their feud, simmering for years, involves accusations of extortion, surreptitious recordings, unethical conduct and underage sex trafficking.

Harvard lawyer Alan Dershowitz has filed four bar complaints in three states — all of which have been dismissed — in a quest to disqualify lawyer David Boies and one of his partners who represent a woman accusing Dershowitz of sexually abusing her when she was underage, newly filed court records show.

The pugnacious Dershowitz, 80, and the equally zealous Boies, 78, have been sparring for decades. In recent years, both have suffered damage to their storied legacies, making this latest clash between the two legal titans one of the most important of their half-century careers.

Dershowitz, professor emeritus at Harvard law school and one of the nation’s most iconic civil libertarians, has defended such notorious clients as Claus Von Bulow, Mike Tyson and O.J. Simpson. But after four decades of legal accolades, he is now facing a sex scandal and is forced to clear his own name at a time when he’s facing a barrage of attacks on social media as one of the most fervent legal defenders of President Donald Trump.

Flynn contacted GOP Mueller critic while cooperating with special counsel

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)While he was cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn contacted at least one member of Congress who was publicly criticizing the special counsel probe, according to messages obtained by CNN.

Flynn sent Twitter direct messages to Rep. Matt Gaetz, encouraging the Florida Republican to "keep the pressure on." It's not clear if Flynn sent additional messages to other lawmakers.

"You stay on top of what you're doing. Your leadership is so vital for our country now. Keep the pressure on," Flynn wrote in an April 2018 message to Gaetz, which was obtained by CNN.

On the evening Flynn sent the message to Gaetz, the lawmaker had appeared on Fox Business' "Lou Dobbs Tonight," where he criticized the Mueller investigation.

SCOOP: Republican-led Senate Intel Committee subpoenas Donald Trump Jr. over Russia matters. First congressional subpoena - we know of - for one of President Trump's children

Scoop: Senate Intel subpoenas Trump Jr. over Russia matters

The Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee has subpoenaed Donald Trump Jr. to answer questions about his previous testimony before Senate investigators in relation to the Russia investigation, sources with direct knowledge told Axios.

Why it matters: It's the first congressional subpoena — that we know about — of one of President Trump's children. The subpoena sets up a fight that's unprecedented in the Trump era: A Republican committee chair pit against the Republican president's eldest son.

It's also a sign that the Russia investigations in Congress aren't over despite the conclusion of special counsel Robert Mueller's probe and despite Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell saying it's time to move on from the Russia probe.

A Senate Intelligence Committee spokesperson told Axios: "We do not discuss the details of witness engagements with the Committee. Throughout the investigation, the Committee has reserved the right to recall witnesses for additional testimony as needed, as every witness and witness counsel has been made aware."
