Angry Russian mothers accuse Putin of using their sons as cannon fodder

Have also read that in Russia ordinary people because of sanctions have no access to cash ATMs and food getting scarce. Ordinary people always suffer the worse in war, eh?

Warships may be on way to BEAUTIFUL Odessa

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/03/03/ukraine-military-kherson-odessa-kyiv-mariupol/

The mayor of Odessa, a major port on the Black Sea, said the population was preparing to mount a defense amid unverified reports that a large fleet of Russian warships was heading toward the waters off the coast.

“Who are you saving us from?” Mayor Gennady Trukhanov said in a video posted online, using an expletive as he addressed Russian leaders who have said the purpose of the invasion is to save ethnic Russians and Russian-language communities in Ukraine.

“Our job today is to act so that every meter of our Odessa land is under control of us, Odessians,” Trukhanov told reporters, according to a separate video posted to his Facebook page.

So we knew what putin was going to do ahead of time. What's plan B?

So far, putin's continuing to execute his plan, adding more fire power. Not deterred by sanctions or anyone calling his actions war crimes.

Meanwhile, Ukrainians fighting for their lives at this very SECOND. People and children are dying. War crimes being committed.

So sadly guess the free world doesn't have a Plan B. Because if we do more we risk nuclear war? And if we did more before invasion -- that would have risked nuclear war too????? Can't prove it now of course, but in retrospect, this strategy sounds like it would have been really super smart. Need to dig up what one DUer talked about a lot

So bottom line Ukrainians sacrificial. Just too hard to watch this.

Wow.... Bill Maher spot on!!! Support for trump dropping

among R's. LAST thing we need to do is feed the trump meme that we are all looking down on them. Resist the urge to say "I told you so".

Omen: NATIONAL SECURITY 2016 RNC Delegate: Trump Directed Change To Party Platform On Ukraine Suppor

https://www.npr.org/2017/12/04/568310790/2016-rnc-delegate-trump-directed-change-to-party-platform-on-ukraine-support

Updated at 3:36 p.m. E.D.T. on December 4.

President Trump may have been involved with a change to the Republican Party campaign platform last year that watered down support for U.S. assistance to Ukraine, according to new information from someone who was involved.

Diana Denman, a Republican delegate who supported arming U.S. allies in Ukraine, has told people that Trump aide J.D. Gordon said at the Republican Convention in 2016 that Trump directed him to support weakening that position in the official platform. Ultimately, the softer position was adopted.

The revision to Denman's proposed amendment to the Republican platform scaled back the party's position on pro-Western elements in Ukraine — from supporting supplying weapons for fighters there to a more general assistance.

The issue is of interest to investigators in Congress and the team working for Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller because the idea of arming Ukrainians in the fight against pro-Russian separatist forces was staunchly opposed by the Russian government — and, it seems, the Trump campaign as well.

Denman has told people she spoke with Gordon, a national security aide on the Trump campaign, at the Republican convention in Cleveland last year. Gordon identified himself as a representative with the Trump campaign and informed her he had phoned "New York" about the Ukraine proposal, in Denman's account.
