CV payments to individuals as negotiated...

Under the plan as it was being negotiated, single Americans would receive $1,200, married couples would get $2,400, and parents would see $500 for each child under age 17.

However, the payments would start to phase out for individuals with adjusted gross incomes of more than $75,000, and those making more than $99,000 would not qualify at all. The thresholds are doubled for couples.

PS. Last I read, although not mentioned here, the phase out between $75k and $99k was reduction of $5 per thou.

Texas is fucked. Abbott and Trump talked today about opening up large swaths of TX

He's appeasing his voter base! He doesn't want them cooped up and getting pissed at him.

If his stated motive is to get the economy going, how much to low population areas add to the GDP?

And forget logistics. You gonna test everyone in your county? And make sure no one goes in or out? And what about deliveries from hot spots?

President Donald Trump and members of his coronavirus task force will headline a two-hour “virtual” Fox News town hall on Tuesday afternoon.

The event will be co-anchored by Harris Faulkner and Bill Hemmer, with contributions from Dr. Nicole Saphier, Dr. Marc Siegel and Dr. Mehmet Oz. Faulker anchors Outnumbered Overtime and Hemmer anchors Bill Hemmer Reports.

Fox News said that the event’s first half hour, starting at noon ET, will feature the anchors interviewing members of the coronavirus task force. Then Trump will join the forum to answer questions submitted by Fox News viewers.

Beat this for exciting things to do while sheltering in place.

1. Going through stacks and stacks of magazines ripping out pages to keep that I will probably never look at again.

2. Ordering broken refrigerator parts from this map

Press needs to figure trump out

A normal person, most everyone, who is leading a question and answer session WILL be affected by a provocative or critical question and listen and respond to facts. It's human nature.

The man, for the last 50 years has probably been barking out orders and yapping on and on with zero pushback.

Trump does not react as most do. He's got the mics turned down for press ( once heard him say he can do this). So when someone asks, he just talks loud and obfuscates and riffs.

So obvious after watching CV briefing yesterday.

Press can work on battling this. But they've got to stick together.

Smart 17 year old in DC

A 17-year-old who asked not to be named wears a yellow hazmat suit, gas mask, boots, and gloves as he walks with his family, from Gaithersburg, Md., under cherry blossom trees in full bloom along the tidal basin, Sunday, March 22, 2020, in Washington. "I'm not worried for me since I'm young," says the 17-year-old, "I'm wearing this in case I come into contact with anyone who is older so that I won't be a threat to them." He plans to wear his protective outfit for coronavirus each time he leaves the house.

Ideas on what to do to help from home?

Would love to hear ideas.

Bored, we cleaned out closets. Have tons to give to Goodwill..but thought, when it stops raining put in front yard. "Dollar Sale"

With a box to put $ in, and a sign "all $ goes to____ ( local food bank? Whatever charity helps people during pandemic).

What's the protocol for making a trip to the grocery?

Been good, holed up at home, but if you need to go to the store, what do you do?

I wore my new disposable gloves, wiped my cart handle with the disinfectant wipes they had at entry.

Shopped and didn't get near anyone. And then the checkout guy said..."those won't do you any good (gloves). The virus is airborne."

Don't really understand the difference? Have always heard it is a "substance" - oil coated droplets that "land" somewhere - so don't touch things.

So what are you supposed to do if the virus is flying around in air? Can't buy masks.

I know, this is a very simplistic view.
