pepperbear's JournalTed Cruz - "Syrian Muslims not facing genocide the way Christians are"
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/syrian-muslims-facing-genocide-christians-ted-cruz/story?id=35264285Sen. Ted Cruz defended his call to allow only Syrian Christian refugees into the United States, saying it wouldn't be difficult to screen for religion.
"At the end of the day it's not that complicated. There's no history of ISIS terrorists embedding in the Christian community and pretending to be Christian," Cruz said in an exclusive interview with ABC News' Chief White House Correspondent Jon Karl.
"If that were occurring, we would work to prevent it. And any refugee coming into this country should be thoroughly vetted, I'm not saying that anyone should be exempted from vetting."
Cruz is one of several presidential candidates in the days since the terrorist attacks in Paris to criticize and call for changes to U.S. plans to bring in Syrian refugees. Cruz said he plans to propose legislation to ban Syrian Muslims from coming to the United States.

Remember when David Letterman called Trump out on his foreign-made ties?
Is anyone really surprised?
"Damn! They never thought he had a bomb!"
Found this great post on FB:
I said: it's sad they thought that kid had a bomb.
She said: they didn't think he had a bomb.
I said: yes, they thought he made a bomb and even called the police.
She said: They just wanted to humiliate a little Muslim boy. They didn't think he had a bomb.
I said: Don't be a conspiracy theorist. They might be a little prejudiced, but I'm sure they thought he had a bomb.
She said: OK.
But they didn't evacuate the school, like you do when there's a bomb.
They didn't call a bomb squad - like you do when there's a bomb.
They didn't get as far away from him as possible, like you do when there's a bomb.
Then they put him and the clock in an office, not like you do when there's a bomb.
Then they waited with him for the police to arrive, and then they put the clock in the same car as the police.
Then they took pictures of it.
I said: Damn.....They never thought he had a bomb.

Confederate Flag surprisingly popular in Canada.
Be it at their Vancouver, Ottawa or Dieppe, N.B., locations, the Flag Shop always had a Canadian market for the Confederate Battle Flag.
According to Susan Braverman, the Vancouver-based president of the franchise, the flag suggested a brand of rebelliousness that appealed largely to teenagers.

In 2013, Hamilton, Ont.s Hillbilly Heaven restaurant faced a barrage of criticism for hanging a Confederate battle flag over its front door.
Owner Cameron Bailey argued that he was just trying to find an iconic southern symbol to advertise his barbeque-laden menu, although the standard has since been taken down.

Scott Walker Gubernatorial campaign probe halted
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/17/us/wisconsin-court-to-rule-on-inquiry-involving-scott-walkers-2012-campaign.html?_r=0The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that a criminal investigation into allegations of coordination between conservative groups and Gov. Scott Walkers 2012 campaign cannot continue.
The decision of the court, which was divided, ends the specter of a criminal investigation as Mr. Walker pursues the Republican nomination for president. Mr. Walker, who has won three elections for governor over the last five years including a recall challenge in 2012, officially announced his bid on Monday.
To be clear, Thursdays ruling reads, this conclusion ends the John Doe investigation because the special prosecutors legal theory is unsupported in either reason or law. Consequently, the investigation is closed.
Legal experts said the special prosecutor, Francis D. Schmitz, could appeal the decision to the United States Supreme Court. A lawyer for Mr. Schmitz was not available for comment on Thursday morning.
