MannyGoldstein's JournalHow utterly @#$%ed up is it that two-thirds
of Americans are against fast-tracking the TPP, yet our President is working to ram the thing down our throat?
Government of, by, and for which people? Certainly not us Proles; we are but mushrooms, fed @#$% and kept in the dark.

"We don't know what, if any, kind of link there is between vaccines and autism - but we should find out."
Who said that, and when?
Why in God's name would Elizabeth Warren run for President?
In just two years, Senator Warren has:
- become a de facto leader of America's FDR Democrats; hell, they call us the Elizabeth Warren Democrats now!
- been appointed to a leadership position among Senate Democrats, usually reserved for members with significant seniority
- had hundreds of thousands of Americans, many organizations, and at least one major newspaper beg her to run for President
- had two major political organizations, MoveOn and DFA, actually set up infrastructure to draft her for President in Iowa in NH
And now Wall Street itself is advertising Warren's utility to working Americans by overtly threatening the Democratic Party unless they can get her to STFU!
In just two years!
Here's my questions: has any Democrat in memory gone so far, so fast? Could Warren have done any better if she'd done anything different?
At some point I expect that Warren will throw her hat into the ring for 2016. But for now... why would she?
In short, it don't get no better."
- Richard Trumka, President, AFL-CIO
Keep on keeping on, Senator Warren!
When should good Democrats take a position on the TPP?
As some on DU know, I'm not the brightest bulb in the chandelier and I'm looking for advice on how to be sensible and/or reasonable. I'm reading conflicting things about when I'm supposed to have an opinion about the TPP. Can y'all help me figure out it out?
Elizabeth Warren: Naïf, or Hater?
From what I hear, Wall Street, pharmaceuticals, telecom, big polluters and outsourcers are all salivating at the chance to rig the deal in the upcoming trade talks. So the question is, Why are the trade talks secret? Youll love this answer. Boy, the things you learn on Capitol Hill, Warren said. I actually have had supporters of the deal say to me They have to be secret, because if the American people knew what was actually in them, they would be opposed...
Think about that. Real people, people whose jobs are at stake, small-business owners who dont want to compete with overseas companies that dump their waste in rivers and hire workers for a dollar a daythose people, people without an army of lobbyiststhey would be opposed. I believe if people across this country would be opposed to a particular trade agreement, then maybe that trade agreement should not happen.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren Is No Sen. Barack Obama.
From the most-entertaining contributor on BlueMassGroup.com, our Bay State's flagship cautiously-left-of-center web community:
So now the Hillaryites (disguised as pro Liz Warren people or disinterested Dems) say Liz should not run because the country will view her as another Barack Obama. A first term fluke senator who suddenly becomes the flavor of the week among the shallow ignorant self-impressed dominating the progressive wing of the party can not be paraded in front of the American people again. Just aint gonna work.
Dont buy it. Just the old folks doing their devotions to the Blessed Hillary. They know they blew their chance eight years ago but hubris makes them believe the seas should be parted for her candidacy.
Screw them.
Face it folks, making Barack Obama President in 08 was like putting One Direction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year. Like them, Barack is a manufactured boy band who plays to a much larger audience. With Liz its more like a young Aretha just walked in the room.

I invite you to click through and read the entire screed, it's quite good.
(If I don't respond to posts, don't take it personally: I've become naughty lately and am writing bad things that need to be hidden. Until I have a chance to introspect a bunch, I'll be holding back a bit.)
There is no way to reconcile the TPP with helping working Americans
The TPP is yet another awful assault against the 99% by the wealthy and their paid help in Congress and the White House. It is simply inconsistent with Democratic values.
If Democrats want voters to vote for them, they should stop these attacks. And you Democratic voters who encourage and/or enable those who exult in this garbage need to think about what you're doing to our country: you are helping to create more despair, hunger, and homelessness. Please reconsider.
Will you people stop whining about the TPP already?
Last time I checked, it was secret, so you can't possibly know what's in it.
Besides, it's still being negotiated. They're saving the best parts for last.
And if it's not perfect, we can improve it later.
Why don't you people wait until it's passed and you've seen what we've actually done to you before complaining?
Regards,
TWM
Why is it so very important to Clinton supporters that
everyone else believe that nobody else could possibly run and win the Democratic nomination?
So many threads are the same, basically:
Her name is Hillary, candidate of candidates:
Look on her works, ye Proles, and despair!
It's at the point where criticism of Hillary or praise for a potential Democratic opponent is labeled as subversive "ratfucking" by many in that crowd - and this is even tolerated (usually) on DU.
"The other kids did it too"
We've been teaching our teenager, for more than a decade, that this is not an excuse. My guess is that most other parents do the same.
Why is this a bull@$%& excuse for child's behavior, but perfectly acceptable for a national political figure?
Another thing I'll just never understand, I suppose.
