femmocrat's JournalThank you from the bottom of my heart!
Wow.... I am floored! Thank you, dear DUers. You are so kind and sweet to think of me.
How has the president been tough on Russia?
Haha.... Jim Acosta challenged Spicey on that assertion.
Puzder's nomination could be in jeopardy:
Puzders Nomination In Jeopardy
February 13, 2017By Taegan Goddard
Four Republican senators have told their leadership they are withholding support for Andrew Puzder, President Trumps choice for labor secretary, setting off an intense effort by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and business groups to bring at least two back into the fold so that the nomination does not fail, CNN reports.
The four, sources say, are Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Tim Scott (R-SC) and Johnny Isakson (R-GA).

Today's Google Doodle: Super cute, interactive and for a great cause!

(You have to go to GOOGLE to play it. It wouldn't let me copy the animated version.)
For this reason, the search engine giant has turned its signature doodle into an interactive game that tells the tale of two long-distance pangolin soulmates whose undying love is now in your hands.

Thank you to the gardeners who referred me to the Birders' Group!
How is it that I did not know about you?!
Does anyone know which bird makes a distinct "tweet, tweet, tweet" song? It pauses, then repeats. It's very clear. I am in western PA but have also heard them in southern VA. I tried searching bird song sites, but was unsuccessful.
I am hoping it is a migrator and a sign of an early spring. Thanks!
Not really a gardening question.... about birds.
I couldn't find a suitable forum for this question, but are there any birders here? This kind of ties in to the change of seasons, though!
I am hearing more birds singing now! Does anyone know which bird makes three tweets ---- "tweet, tweet, tweet," very clearly? It pauses, then repeats. I tried searching but wasn't successful.
I am in western PA, but I also heard this same bird song when I was in southern VA. I hope it is a sign of spring? Thank you!
Toomey's statement on his support for DeVos:
"I am pleased to vote to confirm Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education. Betsy DeVos has spent nearly three decades of her life, tens of millions of dollars, and considerable personal energy toward one noble goal: ensuring that poor children trapped in failing schools have the same opportunities that wealthy and middle class kids already have.

What a total empty suit, feckless repuke shill, gutless wonder he is. Sorry I wasted my time trying to call his stupid offices.
There are anti-abortion shenanigans going on in the PA Senate. Livefeed:

It was up a couple of minutes ago. A woman senator (democrat) gave very personal and moving remarks---- She is the only woman on the committee. She spoke about having had five miscarriages and called out the repubs for abandoning children after they are born. She was wonderful.
Senator Lisa M. Boscola from the Lehigh Valley. If she is your state senator, please call and thank her. She is a treasure.

Senate democrats are opposing DeVos for the next 24 hours: (on C-span2.)

(Please forgive if already posted... I looked, couldn't find it.)
I was somewhere in that crowd.
Between the back of the Hirshhorn and the Smithsonian Castle. We couldn't move.... it was jam-packed. I think the National Guard put the size of the crowd at over a million people.
