Looks like that republican party is staying with the same o same o boys; we Mainers have had enough of that lying pack of tax robbers! they didn't get the message with poliquin! we will definitely send him packing! he thinks he is above the law! his home is in Georgetown and he is running in 2nd district! don't forget he stole tax money by claiming forestry abatement in a tree cutting zone! you can believe he is the dumbest fool walking and didn't know ;or he is just another cheap loud republican screwing his fellow taxpayers by not paying his share! either way this is why so many have left that party because of people like that who think they are above the law

voter restriction

The Brunswick times record had an editorial about voter restriction being done by the republican party and how successful they have been. Every democrat and independent should read this article and pass it on. It also tells how in every race they have taken the least votes of the two major parties. to me this is why they are the minority because they lately have been the party of deceit! How can you declare what a great patriot you are while trying to keep fellow Americans from voting so you can steal an election? just how un-american can they get and not be exposed? I think it's time to show them for what they have become,not what they once were!

the real republican for vets =cuts in benefits

Mitch McConnell doesn't get it.

In the United States of America, the commitment to care for the men and women who put on our nation's uniform shouldn't stop once they return home from the wars they were sent to fight.

This isn't a new promise made to our troops -- some of our first colonial laws dealt with the care of wounded veterans.

That's why it was so jarring to watch Mitch McConnell lead his colleagues in the Senate during a filibuster of legislation to improve veterans health care and tuition benefits ... all over his desire to push our country to the brink of yet another war, this time with Iran.

Mitch McConnell has been on a desperate crusade to appeal to dissatisfied Tea Partiers in Washington D.C., but Kentuckians back home would be appalled by his actions.
McConnell's leadership against improving veterans benefits could end up being his kryptonite.

Kentucky has over 330,000 veterans who live in the state, tens of thousands of them who receive pension payments, tuition assistance, or health care.

McConnell's vote is a slap in the face to all of them.

a little humor to lighten the load

He spent the first day following his divorce packing his belongings into boxes,
crates and suitcases.

It seems that taking Maine workers hostage is getting to be the way of the right! Well I say that we all remember this when we cast our ballot and throw this sticky fingered group to the curb! It's time we brought this group to task! I'm sick of hearing these people who bitch about how the left spends and spends while they have family sucking us dry on welfare! It's fine for them to take advantage of these programs while spewing about others using the same program. Hell most of them either have gov. grants or loans for their business, kids in college with gov. loans or grants -you bet they know all the angles and use them! but they don't want you to!
So don't feel guilty to bring this up in conversation the next time you see them rant ! cuz they live in glass houses

I want to address those who think unions are bad

On the history channel they were talking about how much good the unions did for the coal miners.in the 30's and 40's even the early 50's unions were organizing to improve working conditions in the mines and other industrial companies. the safety hazards were many and if you got hurt you had no workman comp. Of course you know the owners of the mines supported the churches and the pastor preached about the evil union or he was replaced!

I just got time to read Jan 30 Bridgton paper; this is one of Maine's best small town papers which publishes both sides of the aisle although with new ownership it may list a little more to the right. what prompted me to put this in was the vote to refund the 40 million with enough votes to override the extremists right wing group propped up by outside influence~the article is written by "Mike Corrigan" and the title is Doctor, I have this pain, right about Texas! here's a few excerpts that the heritage group and our Gov. are definitely unaware of: We pay more per capita($8508) on healthcare than any other of the 36 nations used to establish cost yea we're #1 suckers ! our life span is 78; france pays ($4118) their life expectancy is 82 years
I'M NOT GOING INTO IT ALL BUT THE MOST EFFICENT HEALTHCARE DELIVERY SYSTEM IN THE WORLD IS AMONG PUBLIC HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS IS(MEDICARE ,MEDICAID)(WE ALSO BOAST THE ONLY POLITCIAL PARTY IN THE WESTERN WORLD ON RECORD ON RECORD AGAINST NATIONAL HEALTHCARE: THOSE EFFICENCY EXPERTS, THE REPUBLICANS!
