Cancer caused 7.6 million deaths worldwide in 2008, some 13% of all deaths worldwide according to the World Health Organization. In the United States, it caused the death of 569,490 people in 2010 (PDF), per the statistics reported by the American Cancer Society. Now, imagine these numbers going down by 90% overnight. Imagine less than 1 million cancer deaths worldwide. Imagine less than 60,000 cancer deaths in the United States. It might seem like a pipe dream. It might seem like something that will take many, many years of research and testing. It might seem like that day is decades away...

...A cancer vaccine developed by the Israeli biotech company Vaxil BioTherapeutics is now entering into Phase III clinical trials (make that Phase I/II). If it gets to, and passes, the Phase III trials (as the Merck and Oncothyreon treatment, Stimuvax, is currently in) it would go to the respective national regulatory bodies and finally enter the market in about six years. Explaining how ImMucin works:

The company says that ImMucin is designed to tell the body which cells to attack, by enhancing the immune system so that it can track down and destroy the cancer. Julian Levy, the CEO of Vaxil, told United With Israel, "the body knows something is not quite right but the immune system doesn’t know how to protect itself against the tumor like it does against an infection or virus. This is because cancer cells are the body’s own cells gone wrong..."

I meet you all the time. You hate Obama. You hate gay people. You hate black people, immigrants, Muslims, labor unions, women who want the right to make choices concerning their bodies, you hate em all. You hate being called racist. You hate being called a bigot. Maybe if you talked about creating jobs more than you talk about why you hate gay people we wouldn't call you bigots. Maybe if you talked about black people without automatically assuming they are on food stamps while demanding their birth certificates we wouldn't call you racist. You hate socialism and social justice. You hate regulations and taxes and spending and the Government. You hate.

I don't know how in the hell any of that is compatible, but no one ever accused you haters of being over-committed to ideological consistency. You like people who look like you or at least hate most of the things that you hate. You hate everything else.

Now, I know you profess to love our country and the founding fathers (unless you are reminded that they believed in the separation of church and state), but I need to remind you that America is NOT what Fox News says it is. America is a melting pot, it always has been. We are a multi-cultural amalgamation of all kinds of people, and yet you still demonize everyone who is not a rich, white, heterosexual christian male or his submissive and obedient wife.

You hate liberals, moderates, hell, anyone who disagrees with Conservative dogma as espoused by Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. You hate em.

Well, here are the facts, Jack. If you hate the Government then you are unqualified to manage it. If you hate gay people more than you love America than you should take your own advice and get the hell out. There are several countries that are openly hostile to gay people, but they are full of brown people and you don't like them much either from what I understand. It looks like you are screwed, but that's not what I am here to tell you...

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — In his final days as Mississippi governor, Republican Haley Barbour gave pardons or early release to nearly 200 people, including more than two dozen whose crimes were listed as murder, manslaughter or homicide, state records show.

A list released by the Mississippi Secretary of State's office on Tuesday showed some of the convicted killers were pardoned, while others were given medical or conditional releases. He had released five other convicted killers in 2008. One of them had been granted a conditional release earlier and was pardoned this time.

Relatives of crime victims had voiced outrage Monday after it was revealed that Barbour had pardoned four convicted murderers. Those men had worked at the Governor's Mansion as part of a prison trusty program...

Is it possible someone was in my computer?

I was visiting the creative speculation forum yesterday. One link led to another, and eventually I ended up on YouTube watching a film produced by Pilots for 911 Truth. It was about a 45 minute flick, so I sat back to watch a bit of it. About 10 or 15 minutes into the film, suddenly the scroll bar on the right hand side of my screen scrolls down to the comments. I leaned forward and checked my mouse and keyboard to make sure nothing was leaning against them, and nothing was. So, I scrolled back up to the film, sat back, and a couple of seconds later it scrolls back down. This happens 2 more times. Then, I got the creeps. I turned off my internet connection and left it off for most of the day. What happened there? Was someone in my computer? Why didn't my virus software (viper) pick it up? Anyone have any idea what happened? Some insight would be greatly appreciated.
