Oopsie! | NTD China Uncensored | NTDonChina

NTDChinaUncensored·Published on Apr 26, 2013

First Post March 18, 2013:

Well boy, is my face red! Seems I owe China an apology. I made a pretty big factual error on an episode of China Uncensored last week.

I thought villagers in Shangpu, Guangdong province, right near Wukan, were attacked by paramilitary police because they were calling for reform and democratic election.

Turns out, every village in China already has democratic elections! And everything's just fine, says Jiang Li, Vice Minister of Civil Affairs.

Leave it to a Communist Official to harmonize our thinking.

Do you want to know what the MEATRIX is?

- You ARE what you eat.

''The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.'' ~Morpheus

How YOU Get Screwed with Nuclear Power (Follow the Money)

Follow the Money http://fairewinds.org/content/follow-money

A closer look at how the utilities screw the public. This week's show is all about money. We look at how some utility owned U.S. nuclear power plants continue to drain the public's pocketbook, sometimes to the tune of fifty million dollars a month, without generating a single watt of electricity.

Crystal River unit 3 Cracked containment in Florida - plant shut down in 2009 costing rate payers approx 50 MILLION dollars a Month to pay workers at a NON OPERATING Plant. It's been shut down approx. 4 Years! Is it Really Cost Effective? The Owner Progress Energy sees no economic sense and decided to shut it down for good.

Georgia Vogel plants will cost the ratepayers 20 Billion dollars EACH for the construction of the plants, which, by the way, are a FLAWED DESIGN. See this video for more the design flaw they intend to build there with the AP1000 reactors.

Fukushima and Its Impact Upon the Westinghouse-Toshiba Designed AP1000 Atomic Power Plant http://fairewinds.com/content/fukushima-and-its-impact-upon-westinghouse-toshiba-designed-ap1000-atomic-power-plant

About this video:
Fairewinds was retained by the AP1000 Oversight Group to evaluate the AP1000 design for flaws that are now evident as a result of the nuclear accidents at Fukushima. The NRC's refusal to thoroughly examine these flaws is reminiscent of the Atomic Energy Commission's refusal in 1972 to thoroughly examine the innate flaws in the GE Mark 1 containment systems that failed at Fukushima. The AP1000 Oversight Group is demanding that these design flaws be remedied prior to design certification, lest history repeat itself.

Life in Spain's ''slum of shame''

AlJazeeraEnglish·Published on Apr 29, 2013

It has been named the slum of shame. La Canada Real is an illegal settlement outside Madrid which is home to more than 40,000 people, who face an uncertain future. There is no running water or drains, electricity is hijacked, and houses are built amidst the rubble Al Jazeera's Rory Challands reports from La Canada Real, Spain.

Most Hazardous Material On Planet Leaking At U.S. Nuclear Site

Title: Hanford worker’s struggle to ‘do the right thing’
Source: KING 5
Author: SUSANNAH FRAME
Date: April 25, 2013

Reporter: We’ve heard about other leaking tanks, so why is this one so important? This tank is holding waste that is so toxic that if it were to eat through its outer shell and reach the nearby the Columbia River it would contaminate irrigation water, crops, salmon, our food chain — not for months, but for hundreds of years to come.

Underfoot, the most hazardous material on earth is brewing inside a million gallon double shell tank.

Hanford Worker: This tank is holding the nastiest of nastiest stuff at Hanford.

Hanford worker's struggle to 'do the right thing'

by SUSANNAH FRAME / KING 5 News / Posted on April 25, 2013 at 11:05 PM

The private company that manages the radioactive waste tank farms at the Hanford Site ignored or missed numerous red flags over a 10-month period that showed a double-shell tank holding some of the worst waste was leaking.

Over much of that time, one Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) employee -- Mike Geffre -- continued to urge his superiors to take some sort of action.

But from Oct. 9, 2011 -- the day a leak detector alarm went off -- until the first week of August 2012 -- when a scheduled video inspection documented the leak -- WRPS let evidence of the problem pile up without taking action to confirm what the tank monitoring instruments were showing and what advice experienced employees like Geffre were offering. The leak was not officially confirmed and revealed to the public until Oct. 22, 2012.

Why is the US Giving Free Money to China? | NTD China Uncensored | NTDonChina

NTDChinaUncensored·Published on Apr 26, 2013

First Post March 27, 2013: China is the world's fastest growing economy, the second largest consumer of energy, maintains the largest standing army and holds about 1.2 trillion dollars of American debt. It's also technically a developing nation and so get's millions of dollars of aid money from around the world. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it? On this episode of China Uncensored, Chris Chappell reveals how the Chinese regime manipulates its image as a superpower and developing nation by keeping the coastal cities rich and the rural areas poor.

A monstrous whirlpool has appeared in the Baltic state of Latvia swallowing everything dragged towards it.

The bizarre phenomenon looks as if a plug has been pulled from the ground beneath as it sucks water down.

A seven-minute clip of what looks like a vortex in action was apparently captured after a river burst its banks in the south-east of the country.

US sailor thwarts Dubai bus driver rapist after putting him in strangehold with her thighs...

...and then beating him into submission

An off-duty US navy sailor wrestled a bus driver to the ground and beat him into submission after he attempted to rape her at knife point, a court heard yesterday. Prosecutors said that she knocked the knife from his hand, broke it in two, bit him in the hand, forced him to the ground and locked him between her thighs.

The woman, 28, was on 24-hour shore leave in Dubai and was attacked as she returned to the port where she was based after a day shopping. She had been attempting to hail a taxi after visiting shopping centre, Mall of the Emirates and a supermarket when a bus pulled up next to her. After climbing aboard she became suspicious of the drivers route.

She said: ‘I noticed he did not take the main road and when I asked him he told me not to worry.’ He then drove for a further 10 minutes before stopping in an area where other buses were parked and attempting to kiss her. When she refused him he pulled the knife and threatened to rape her but she was able to subdue him.

Radiation Of The Pacific Ocean In The Next 10 Years - Japan Nuclear Disaster

TheCCCVideoChannel·Published on Feb 8, 2013

This is a 10 year timelapse of the radiation from Fukushima, Japan, contaminating the Pacific Ocean. A sequence of global ocean circulation models, with horizontal mesh sizes of 0.5°, 0.25° and 0.1°, are used to estimate the long-term dispersion by ocean currents and mesoscale eddies of a slowly decaying tracer (half-life of 30 years, comparable to that of 137Cs) from the local waters off the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plants.

The tracer was continuously injected into the coastal waters over some weeks; its subsequent spreading and dilution in the Pacific Ocean was then simulated for 10 years. The simulations do not include any data assimilation, and thus, do not account for the actual state of the local ocean currents during the release of highly contaminated water from the damaged plants in March--April 2011. An ensemble differing in initial current distributions illustrates their importance for the tracer patterns evolving during the first months, but suggests a minor relevance for the large-scale tracer distributions after 2--3 years. By then the tracer cloud has penetrated to depths of more than 400 m, spanning the western and central North Pacific between 25°N and 55°N, leading to a rapid dilution of concentrations.

The rate of dilution declines in the following years, while the main tracer patch propagates eastward across the Pacific Ocean, reaching the coastal waters of North America after about 5--6 years. Tentatively assuming a value of 10 PBq for the net 137Cs input during the first weeks after the Fukushima incident, the simulation suggests a rapid dilution of peak radioactivity values to about 10 Bq m?3 during the first two years, followed by a gradual decline to 1--2 Bq m?3 over the next 4--7 years. The total peak radioactivity levels would then still be about twice the pre-Fukushima values.
