This happened recently in Westminster, Orange County, CA, right next to Huntington Beach. The TMZ article was published today.
Orange County is one of the most conservative counties in CA, and known to harbor a lot of racists.
The cop has been placed on administrative leave and is under investigation by the Orange County DA.

COPS STOP FELLOW OFFICER FROM PUNCHING HANDCUFFED WOMAN
Punching Cop Placed On Paid Leave
4:17 PM PT -- The Westminster Police officer seen on video punching a woman has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal affairs investigation. The WPD Internal Affairs Division is also in communication with the Orange County DAs Office, which will evaluate the officers use of force and determine if criminal charges are warranted.
As for what brought cops out in the first place. Cops say they got a call about a female Hispanic adult assaulting an adult Asian woman who had tried to rescue a dog running in the street.
Cops say when they showed up the Hispanic adult exhibited signs of being under the influence and, while waiting for paramedics, the woman was not compliant and she became combative with officers. While trying to control her, a WPD Officer used force and struck [the woman] two times in the face with his first. Two WPD Officers immediately intervened and deescalated the situation. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and later booked into Orange County jail.

Right-wing conservatives are here to convince you that murder is an appropriate response to property damage, but property damage isn't an appropriate response to murder.

Sunday DU follow back on Twitter party
Post your Twitter handle below and follow back your Dem Underground fam.
I've been posting on DU for fifteen years. I'm an avid resister and a progressive Dem. A lot of you know me and used to follow my old account there, but it was suspended for tweeting video of the Capitol insurrection. Twitter didn't like that I posted a link to a video that kind of showed a death. So, I had to start over with a new account.
That old account had 64,000 followers who I love. I'm almost back to 5,000 after just getting back into it for the past month. I love Democratic Underground even more than Twitter. DU is more intimate. I really love you guys. After fifteen years, I think of you all as extended family. We sometimes quarrel during the primaries, but we always come together in the end. We are Stronger Together. I mean that.
We've done Twitter follow back threads before, and they've been popular. My Twitter strategy is to be funny, make 'em laugh, and then hit 'em with some thought-provoking liberal ideas. People seem to like my content. If you want more funny, political content in your Twitter feed, please follow me. Here is an example of what I tend to tweet:

'I'm Facing 8 Years in Prison': Georgia Rep. Park Cannon Speaks Out for First Time
'I'm Facing 8 Years in Prison': Georgia Rep. Park Cannon Speaks Out for First Time Since Arrest for Being Anti-Voter SuppressionLast week, Brian Kemp, Georgias governor of Black vote purgatory, surrounded himself with equally Klan-ish white men who appropriately stood in front of a plantation portrait while Kemp signed legislation that sent a single message to non-white voter demographics across the state: Either start voting Republican, or theyll make it harder to vote at all.
The white men, who wore suits likely because Klan robes are out of season, closed the door to the room where it happens and watched as Kemp signed the legislation, but that didnt sit right with state Rep. Park Cannon, who was arrested for knocking on the door to demand that Kemp stop being a punk-bitch and sign his little Jim Crow 2021 law in front of the people. On Thursday, Cannon spoke out for the first time since her arrest.
Cannon spoke during a press conference in front of the John Lewis mural on Auburn Avenue on Thursday morning. After describing her experience as painful, both physically and emotionally, she dropped a bomb that should only further enrage people who are already enraged at the injustice of voter laws that even Kemp sort of admitted are largely arbitraryCannon said shes facing eight years for knocking on a door.
I felt as if time was moving in slow motion, Cannon said while holding back tears. As difficult as it is to acknowledge that I am facing eight years in prison on unfounded charges...I believe the governors signing into law the most comprehensive voter suppression bill in the country is a far more serious crime. A law with such nefarious qualities that several of Georgias Fortune 500 companies have begun knocking on the door.
