My Supervisor was arrested running around in his socks and underwear last weekend

Just thought you all might want to know what has happened to a "Corporate Enabler" in Sonoma Co. Calif.

The local chat page: http://www.waccobb.net/forums/showthread.php?99388-Efren-Carrillo-arrested-on-Prowling-and-Burglary-charges!!!!&p=168641#post168641

Looks like an out of town DA will handle the case: http://napavalleyregister.com/news/local/napa-da-handling-sonoma-supervisor-efren-carrillo-s-case/article_ad61c220-eff3-11e2-ae5e-001a4bcf887a.html

I didn't find Efrens name with a search, so figured the news should be shared, even though it is a week old. The Press Democrat covered the story too.

Do you Pray, or Wish Good Vibes? I have an assignment

I read the weather report, 20 percent chance of showers, also thunderstorms.

Locking up the sheep (The coyote was chased out of the pasture today) I felt a little sprinkle.

Then a Fire Department email comes through about seeing lightning. When I replied I hadn't seen any, he sent this:

Yep, we are sitting on the back porch and it is almost like a 4th of July
show at 11PM. Looks like the North is just getting hammered. Something is
going to be burning by morning. Could they see another 2008???
Swing by Plotz hill at first light and holler if you see any smoke!

A friend from Santa Rosa can see the lightning and asked how it was out here. (I am 4 miles from the coast.)

I went out and looked West, sure enough, it's quite a show. We had one about two weeks ago. Sonoma Co. had 18 smokes the next day, last count I heard. I've lived here 30+ years and summer rain and lightning is not our thing. Seen some fierce Winter Lightning storms, knocked out power for days. But not this summer stuff.

Thanks,
ADW

Russia Warns Obama: Global War Over “Bee Apocalypse” Coming Soon

The shocking minutes relating to President Putin’s meeting this past week with US Secretary of State John Kerry reveal the Russian leaders “extreme outrage” over the Obama regimes continued protection of global seed and plant bio-genetic giants Syngenta and Monsanto in the face of a growing “bee apocalypse” that the Kremlin warns “will most certainly” lead to world war.

According to these minutes, released in the Kremlin today by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation (MNRE), Putin was so incensed over the Obama regimes refusal to discuss this grave matter that he refused for three hours to even meet with Kerry, who had traveled to Moscow on a scheduled diplomatic mission, but then relented so as to not cause an even greater rift between these two nations.

At the center of this dispute between Russia and the US, this MNRE report says, is the “undisputed evidence” that a class of neuro-active insecticides chemically related to nicotine, known as neonicotinoids, are destroying our planets bee population, and which if left unchecked could destroy our world’s ability to grow enough food to feed its population.

So grave has this situation become, the MNRE reports, the full European Commission (EC) this past week instituted a two-year precautionary ban (set to begin on 1 December 2013) on these “bee killing” pesticides following the lead of Switzerland, France, Italy, Russia, Slovenia and Ukraine, all of whom had previously banned these most dangerous of genetically altered organisms from being used on the continent.

I didn't see this post about a man from Iran about to be deported from UK

(He killed himself rather than experience whatever would have happened if he was deported.)

For fun, ready to trip-out?

If you haven't been to this link it's wild. I don't know why some times it appears to be falling into the center, and other times growing out of the center, and if you move your mouse things really pop about...

VW sold in UK gets 78.5 mpg (see video)

Video here: http://video.staged.com/localshops/vw_passat_785_mpg_in_the_uk

The guy says they are manufactured in the good old USA, but because there wouldn't be enough gas tax revenue made to keep the roads repaired they are not allowed to sell them here...

(I did a search and found two old posts which mention vehicles getting this kind of mileage.)

a film showing of "CITIZEN CHANGE"

I got this notice today, and thought some Ca. Bay Area folks may be interested:

a free screening of

CITIZEN CHANGE

a documentary by James Chambers

Citizen Change documents how the world's first Domestic Partnership policies came to be enacted into law in 1984; first by the Berkeley School Board and then the Berkeley City Council. This was the first time that same-sex couples were granted any of the rights of marriage. Some of the activists featured in the film will be in attendance.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,

committed citizens can change the world.

Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

—Margaret Mead
